Re: Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

Since my Bp went up my doc put me on nephedepine with the labetalol. But it went down enough last week to stop nephedepine. It was starting to make me super low so that was a good sign. I hate to admit I don't always have the time to regularly check my Bp but the few times I have the numbers were de...

Re: Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

Thanks again everyone for the support. I had a healthy baby girl, Sabrina, 6lbs 3oz. My blood pressure went down to 110/70 and I left the hospital 134/80. BUT a week and half later my BP went up to 161/115! I called my doctors office and they told me bring my dose of labetalol back up to 300 Mg from...

Re: Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

Thanks for the positive responses caryn and momtimesthree. As an update my blood pressure didn't go over the 140ish zone so we increased the medication and that along with bedrest seemed to keep me stable enough to buy a few more weeks. I made it to 37 weeks yesterday! Something I never did with my ...

Re: Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

Well like clockwork the ultrasound at 33 weeks has the beginnings of low fluid and creeping up is swelling and blood pressure. Not enough to panic but enough to know where this is going. I swear I remember my last pregnancy the exact same thing happened. Her weight is still within the average but he...

Re: Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

Feeling hopeful and a little relieved after my last doc appointment. No other Preeclampsia symptoms have shown up. Medication is keeping my blood pressure at a good level now and the baby is growing right on schedule. The doc is optimistic I can get to a safe birth weight if everything stays steady....

Birthing Class out of touch with PE?

Has anyone else had a not quite good experience going to a birthing class. I'm on my second pregnancy with PE and my husband asked me whether I wanted to go to another class. I honestly don't want to go because I felt very alienated the first time around. We already had PE at 32 weeks so we knew I w...

Re: Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

Thank you Lauren. Sometimes a sympathetic ear who's gone through the same thing is good to have. Especially when half the people around you have no clue what preeclampsia is and you don't always feel up to explaining all the bad things that can happen. A well meaning coworker actually said to me "is...

Re: It's different when you know what could be coming

I just wanted to say how reading through your posts really reassured me that there is hope everything can come out ok the second time around. I have been having a little hypertension and I didn't realize until I read through your posts that its not automatic preeclampsia. Although I know I'm still a...

Put on bloodpressure meds at 24 weeks

So as I posted in a previous post there were a few blood pressure spikes early in my pregancy but with diet and exercise I was able to keep it down well. However at 23 weeks I went through a more than anticipated physically stressful weekend. At my 24 week appointment my pressure was high again :( T...

early blood pressure problems but no second diagnosis yet

My son was born about 5 years ago during a stressful and hectic time in my life and I fully admit I probably didn't take care of myself as I should. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 30 weeks and my son was born 4 weeks early at 4lbs. Ironically his lungs and heart were very well developed becaus...
