Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

Okay, I'm pretty convinced at this point that my OBs, L&D departments in general, and the ER are all utterly, completely worthless. I think from now on, unless I'm gushing blood or blacking out, I'm just staying home and saving myself the aggravation. Two days ago, I started with some pretty bad sho...

What was your tip-off?

So many of the PE symptoms seem like they could also be regular pregnancy symptoms. I'm constantly waffling between "am I being too hyper vigilant?" and "no, there really is something wrong, it's just subtle right now." So I figured I'd ask: 1) What was your tip-off that something was wrong? 2) Was ...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

For your readings that are going up and down - search Caryn's posts, she has a lot of good explanations about the biology. If I'm understanding right, it's like there is an "argument" between mom's body and the placenta, so sometimes levels are high, sometimes they are low. But it's virtually inevi...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

I guess this is another thing that aggravates me. The OB I see the most out of my practice is the one who delivered my daughter. I hadn't seen him much before she was born, the OB that I saw most was delivering someone else at another hospital and couldn't get to me in time, so he was her backup. I ...

Re: Probably unrealistic but... vbac? Anxiety is killing me.

Sounds like you're in the same boat as me in some ways, a "limbo" patient where some people are concerned, some people aren't. I'm above the levels they want but not high enough to be classed PE. Gee, it's not like this is a condition that makes you feel like a ticking time bomb where you can't know...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

He perks up with juice, just slowly. I'm told if he doesn't perk up within ~30 mins to call. In the meantime, my BP is zigzagging more, I'm feeling either faint or like I'm going to explode. My pulse (resting) is pushing 100 more and more. It used to be around 80. I'm constantly feeling like my body...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

I'm so confused. They're saying this last 24-hr test had protein of 175 and creatinine of 1.6. That's still above the levels they consider "normal," which are 150 and .6-1.5 respectively. My BPs are still up, dancing around that 140/90 level, even if it's sometimes zigzagging so much I'm alternating...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

As for the damage that the creatinine may be showing, it seems like we've had maybe a handful posters with continuing kidney issues - but the docs usually seem to assume that pregnancy unmasked pre-existing issues, not PE causing long-term damage. If I'm understanding right, the conventional unders...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

I'm wondering if some of what happened yesterday was because I actually went out instead of staying at home and doing as little as possible. My BPs were ranging from 138/82 down to 115/78ish. That's pretty typical of what's been going on--wildly fluctuating systolic, diastolic between 70 and 90. The...

Re: New and pretty overwhelmed

I went to my doc appt today, figuring this was a chance to see if maybe they'll take this more seriously. I had a headache as I got to the office and started to feel more "off" as I was in the waiting room. I felt like I had teeny lights that were darting around and when I stood up when my name was ...
