Re: Thinking about trying again

I completely understand your fears/concerns/etc about trying again. We're in our third cycle of trying now and I still have all those things. I didn't agree to try again until we found an mfm that I loved and that was totally on the same page as me. Sounds like you found that! :) As for the mag, I d...

Re: Need Help

Hi Jordan, Sorry for what you and your wife are going through. Unfortunately, there's not much to do. Best thing is for you and your wife to read up on all of the symptoms of pre-e and HELLP (this website is a great resource) and watch out for them. Bed rest helps some people but not all. 33w seems ...

Re: Edema without diagnostic BP

I think it's great that you're worrying for your friend. :) As for her symptoms, my first sign was swelling. The day my husband told me my eyes "looked weird" (from the swelling) was the day I was admitted to the hospital and found to have protein of 8000. I do know that some folks get far more dras...

Re: Advised not to carry again

Figure'd I mention for anyone who might be reading this later, I did come across a mention about frozen vs fresh IVF and their rates of pre-e. A US study found that frozen IVF had much lower rates of pre-e, but they referenced a Swedish study that found the opposite. The US study pointed out that mo...

Re: Safe to have another baby? 2 bouts of PIH

I did get advice from 3/4 of the doctors I talked to. My OB, two High Risks, and an RE. The OB was the only one who wouldn't say one way or the other what I should do, though she did say she agreed with what the high risks said. They both said that the odds were very much in my favor. One quoted the...

Re: Chronic hypertensive at 27 weeks spiking BP.

I don't think you're being too paranoid. There may be such a thing, but I think it's very far from where you are. :) I think being proactive is a huge advantage and it sounds like you're doing exactly that. I'd say with where you are in symptoms, calling first thing Monday should be fine. (Good for ...

Re: Pregnant 5 years after...

37w is great!! Congrats! Sounds like those levels aren't officially pre-e yet, so that may be why they're waiting. Most recent guidelines say that once you have pre-e and are past 37w, they should take the baby. So keep a close eye on things. Hoping you make it to the 18th!

Re: Deep breaths...

I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost twin sons in August after they were born at 23w5d due to severe pre-e. While we haven't tried again yet, I think about it and (think) we plan to soon. I'm sure you'll have a nerve wracking 9 months ahead of you, but I wish nothing but the best for you and you...
