Re : Preeclampsia in TV show script

<t>I agree that this is NOT a "very dramatic, tension-filled, cut-and-dried-soap-like decision of whether to save the baby's life or the mother's life". <br/> <br/> The first time that I was diagnosed with PE my oldest daughter was only 22 weeks gestation and I was praying to make it to 25 weeks -- ...

Re : Preeclampsia in TV show script

<t>I talked to my mom about it (she is also an avid Y&R viewer) and she said that they are talking about PE, protein in the urine, increasing blood pressure (I guess they actually used the term hypertension). Victoria (the character) is in a coma due to part of the parking garage, that exploded,...

Re : Olivia Joy is here

Congratulations on baby Olivia! I am sorry to hear that you had such a rough time; but your Joy is here safe and sound and that is the most important thing right now.
Take care of yourself.
BTW, Joy is a wonderful name -- I am a little biased though.

3 Hour Glucose Tolerance Test

<t>I was wondering if anyone knew the protocol for diet prior to the 3 hour GTT? <br/> <br/> My 3 hour came back with numbers so high that my OB figured that I would need insulin (even with the fact that I am on a good bit of metformin). However, they drew a random glucose the same day that I learne...

Re : PE and blood clotting disorders?

<t>After my first pregnancy (in which I developed early onset and severe PE), I was tested for just about every clotting factor/disorder under the sun (16 vials of blood is proof of that) and found out that I had two -- MTHFR and PAI-1. With Lovenox in my second pregnancy, I developed mild PE at 32 ...

24 Hour Urine Test Question

<t>I do not know if anyone has posed this question before, but I keep hearing that over 300 mg is the "magic number" for a determination of PE (when combined with other items). My question is whether that 300 mg is for any amount of urine or for a certain, possibly average amount of urine. <br/> I a...
