Re: aspirin side effects on babies
Hi! I delivered my first at 36 weeks due to PE/HELLP, and my MFM prescribed lovenox and aspirin for my next two (mostly uneventful) pregnancies as a result of a clotting disorder. Since those pregnancies, using anticoagulants has seen a decline and recent research is leading away from that practice,...

Re: #4 on the way - stats question
Hi! I just had our fourth in February. My first was PE/HELLP with delivery at 36 weeks, second was elevated pressures toward the end but no PE, third was an absolutely perfect pregnancy, fourth went really smoothly and I delivered four days prior to my scheduled c-section at 39.3 due to fetal indica...

Re: New and looking for advice
Hi! Welcome to the PF! :) I also have the PAI-1 gene mutation (mine is 4G/4G). Do you know if you're heterozygous or homozygous? That would likely be the determining factor for whether a physician would proceed with anticoagulants in pregnancy. My MFM prefers to manage 4G/4G, and *sometimes* 4G/5G d...

Re: Protein!
Wonderful! I'm so glad that you were able to lay out a plan that works for everyone and keeps a close eye on you and bebe. My MFM would either do (2) NST/week or (1)/BPP a week. Since we could never keep him on monitor, it was almost always a weekly BPP. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes quickly ...

Re: Protein!
Thirding that! My MFM never wanted to start NST prior to 32 weeks. Even then, it was difficult to keep any of mine on monitors, and we had many, many BPPs. Glad to hear you had another set of eyes check things out.

Re: Protein!
Please keep us posted as you're able. Hope you get good care this time! Neither Ella nor Oliver ever had reactive NSTs, and we always moved to BPPs; I have to admit I'm relieved that everything looks good with your little one. Hang in there!

Re: Protein!
Bad NSTs were *the* first sign that we were headed south. Fast. My doctors, at the time, were negligent - not maliciously, I guess, but negligent in the sense that I was more severe than they were equipped to care for and wouldn't refer out. I've been where you are in terms of feeling like no one is...

What a beautiful name! Wishing her strength and speed while she grows big and strong in the NICU and sending hugs to you, too, mama. Congratulations on your little one.

Re: I am new and have some questions :)
Lisa, I'm hopeful, with everyone else, that you've been driven to the hospital by now. I am SO sorry for all that you're experiencing right now. Your symptoms are *very* concerning, and if your current doctor isn't adequately concerned, please get yourself to the hospital and request that an MFM rev...
