Re: chronic hypertension

Woohoo!!

I, too, was on methyldopa for my pregnancies (one was in the US and the other was in Germany).

Sounds like you and baby are doing well - hang in there! And keep us posted!!!

Re: 8 weeks pregnant... scared out of my mind

First off, congratulations! How exciting to be pregnant!! and how scary. Nothing I can say will help relieve your fears - you have lived the nightmare. But, I can tell you things I did to help me come to terms, especially the second time around. I had a plan. A plan for nearly everything. From the b...

Re: Recovery time

If I remember correctly, after my first, it did take a while, but my BP did return.

After my second, however, it never went back down and my "new" baseline is 140/90 - lucky me.

Have you met with your regular doc (not OB) to discuss the what ifs of having long-term high bp?

Re: Feel Like I'm on a Roller Coaster

Just read through everything else and wanted to pop my head in and see how you and little one are?

The most important piece of advice I can give you is to trust yourself. Trust your body and trust your gut.

Hope you're recovering from the pneumonia!!!

Re: New Member

Like the other two posters, I feel at a loss for what to say ... I am so sorry you lost your little one. I am sorry you are fighting blood pressure issues today. I am sorry you have had to go through what you went through, only to face it daily and try to understand where it went awry ... sadly, the...

Re: Considering #3 after 2 severe PE pregnancies. Am I INSAN

Sounds to me like whatever you decide, you are going into it with full awareness. We truly are the lucky ones - those of us who can sit at our computers and type about our stories, those of us who can cuddle our babies every day and night. But we also know the risk we take with having additional pre...

Correlation between PE and PCOS - long-term effects

Sofia turned 4 in February and since her birth, I have been struggling with high blood pressure. Prior to conceiving her, my OB did an internal U/S, which showed multiple ovarian cysts. That with my oh-so-never-regular-record of periods and other symptoms have led me to believe I have PCOS. During h...

Re: Order of Events in PE

I had PE in both of my pregnancies. Though my 2nd pregnancy was a worse case of PE, I felt much better, partly due to the fact that I knew what I was up against. In my 2nd, I was here in Germany, where I was seeing someone quite regularly - which is sounds like you are too! Good for your docs and mi...

Long time no see ... hello!!

I cannot believe that Henry is already 5.5 years old! He is tall (IMO, but hey, I am 5'1'' on a tall day) and skinny. He eats well (but doesn't like cooked vegetables) and enjoys going to preschool. He had tubes placed in his ears around 6months of age, then again last year. That was when we discove...

Re: When does baby usually get to come home?

I think the 1 week before due date is a standard answer, based on the averages of how long babies remain. When my niece was born 14 years ago, she had to meet certain criteria - she had to be at least 4 pounds, eating and breathing on her own while maintaining her body weight. My son was born at the...
