Re : Baby #2 Outcomes: Are you part of the statistic?

<t>I'm so sorry for your loss.<br/> <br/> I had severe HELLP with my first pg, starting at 28w (in hindsight). Delivered a 2 lb 10 oz baby bo via emergency csection at 30w2d. 6 weeks in the NICU. Took me about 3 months for my bp to get back to normal and get off all of the drugs. <br/> <br/> When I ...

Re : My HELLP loss and new here

<t>Ashley, I am so sorry for your loss of sweet Nolan. <br/> <br/> I'm sure you want to know more about this terrible disease. The most frustrating part might be that we still don't know why it happens. Just know it was nothing you did, or didn't do.<br/> <br/> You're dealing with so much right now,...

Re : new here, nursing question

<t>Congrats on your baby girl! So glad you're home and everyone is doing well.<br/> <br/> I had a terrible time pumping and nursing my first, born due to HELLP. I tried everything to increase my supply. I still remember the day he had to take supplemental formula for the first time because I couldn'...

Re : Should I try again after surviving HELLP?

<t>Bieram, I'm so sorry for your loss.<br/> <br/> FWIW, I was tested for underlying disorders and there weren't any. I also never had high bp or protein in my pg. <br/> <br/> My second pg I didn't develop HELLP -- depending on who you talk to the odds are less than 10% -- but I did develop PIH/PE. I...

Re : Hello new here, just experienced HELLP

<t>Holiday, glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Way to go, liitle girl! Sounds as if she's thriving. How are you feeling? Better? HELLP is can be hard for moms to recover from, both phsyically and emotionally. It can take a while for your bp to go down, btw.<br/> <br/> Just fyi, I had all the ...

Re : New to site...looking for a support system

Good luck! My 2nd pg (after HELLP) was quite stressful and I have to say, I didn't really enjoy it but I"m so glad for the extra monitoring and care. It's good to have a plan and an aware of supportive caretaker. Wishing you a HELLP and PE-free pg!

Re : Adam and Noah have hernias

<t>Glad to hear the good report!<br/> <br/> FYI, my preemie had both an umbilical and inguinal (sp) hernia. He had surgery for the groin hernia at 5 months. He gave us a little scare during the surgery, but he was able to come home two hours later and did great with the recovery. It wasn't too arduo...

Re : New here, need support!

<t>Hi, Raquel. Glad to see you found your way here from Ovusoft. :-)<br/> <br/> As I mentioned, it took about 3 months for my liver, kidney and bp to get back to normal, although I confess I don't remember the exact levels or exactly when which level normalized.<br/> <br/> I think the important thin...

Re : CONDSIDERING 2ND BABY POST ECLAMPSIA AND HELLP

<t>This is a very difficult decision, one many of us have gone through. <br/> <br/> I had very severe class I HELLP with no PE symptoms until the end. My DS was born at 30w2d at 2 lbs 10 oz. Although he is a healthy 4 yo today, his first weeks were very scary. My recovery was also difficult and requ...

Re : Heart "fluttering" UPDATE

<t>I have these, too. I get full-blown attacks and my left side will go numb and then I can't sleep. They ruled out a heart problem or anxiety attacks. I take atenolol (beta blocker) which helped immensely.<br/> <br/> If they seem to happen at night, it could be related to your endocrine system -- e...
