Re: thought I would feel more optimistic when I got this far

I felt the same way when I reached the week/day that my son came at 26 weeks..in 1995. So 13 yrs later I was in tears and very fearfull all day/night. I had great OBGYN care with my last pregnancy but they knew to watch me. PE didn't stay away and Michael was IUGR but we made it to 32 weeks on 6 wee...

Re: First time mom with baby in NICU

My son was a 32 weeker, in NICU for 6 weeks. I lived near the hospital and was on sick leave so I made sure during the day I went often..normally for the posted hands-on time. Does your NICU have him on a schedule so every 3-4 hrs he can be held, fed, kangaroo care? If so I suggest going as often as...

Re: permanent birth control

I also had Essure done and it was an easy procedure, no surgery, no side effect..my monthly period is the same. I had my tubes tied in 2000 and reversed in 2003, I didn't want to go through it again. IUD was out of the question as I knew no more kids for me at the age of 40. I would say look into th...

Re : Speech Issues

<t>As the mother of a child who is speech delayed and has been diagnosed with having a mild-moderate hearing loss in both ears you should act now. Michael is 22 mos. He failed his newborn hearing tests so I knew he had some hearing loss. You need to contact an Early Intervention program for an evalu...

Re : preeclampsia occuring earlier in next pregnancy

I honestly think it is different for all women...again another nomaly in the realm of PE. Some members here have had PE first time, even a loss and never had it second time. I had PE/HELLP at 26 weeks then 15 yrs later PE at 32.

Re : Ladies who have suffered with PE & HELLP...

<t>I did get PE again at 32 weeks but not HELLP. I had PE/HELLP at 27 weeks first time, 2nd time PE at 32 weeks. My son did suffer from IUGR as he was only 2.10 and I suspect my first son did too as he was only 15 ounces.<br/> <br/> I am out of the baby business at the age of 41. I've lost one child...

Re : Stressed... Premei.....Advise welcome!!

<t>I had a 32 weeker who was 2lbs 10 oz, NICU for 6 weeks. I have no other children, a dog, but it was stressful no matter what. Michael passed all tests - no apnea, car seat test, and came home at 4lb 1 oz w/o issue. I have no experience with apnea either...I will say all babies sleep alot...no mat...

Re : 3 not walking not completely talking

<t>My son is a 32 weeker, failed newborn hearing test. An ABR test (they hook up monitors to head and monitor reaction of sound to brain waves) showed mild-mod loss in one ear. At 22 mos he is speech delayed, has speech therapy every other week, had a repeat ABR test done under sedation and showed t...
