Re: Anyone have another child after having HELLP?

I had class 1 HELLP and delivered my daughter at 34 weeks. The abdominal pain started at 24 weeks so I know my HELLP really started then. I went to a perinatoligist who felt I could get pregnant again but I had a huge risk of a very premature baby. We decided to do gestational surrogacy and my son w...

Thankful!

There is no question that this site saved my life and the life of my daughter. When I was pregnant a friend had postpartum HELLP. I didn't know what it was so I googled it and this site came up. I learned all about it and the symptoms. When I was 33 weeks pregnant I had extreme swelling, high BP and...

Re : Maternal vitamin D deficiency increases risk of PE

<t>I had PE and HELLP. After my pregnancy I was tested for everything, or so I thought. I was trying to concieve again. When my daughter was 18 months old I found out I had breast cancer. It was until then that they tested my vitamin D level. It was 14. It should be between 30 and 100, ideally aroun...

Re : Our HELLP story

I am glad to hear you had a happy ending. I had a similar story and have a healthy 18 month old. A lot of people on here were not so lucky. HELLP is super scary and comes on so fast. I wish there were more awareness about the disease. I hope you are enjoying your baby.

Re : Epigastric pain 1 year later

<t>I had it for a long time after I had my daughter. At least 6 months, All my labs were normal but the pain was unmistakable. It was worse when I was tired. It went away eventually. I found other women on here who experienced the same thing. One doctor did tell me that the liver capsule swelling ca...

Re : Feel worried I am about to turn the corner...

<t>I had the pains on and off for some time before it got really severe. I thought it might be a normal pregnancy thing. It was my first pregnancy, who knew? I would describe it as mild an uncomfortable at first. Then it got more severe but it would go away with rest or a warm bath. Eventually it wa...

Re : Question about visual disturbance

I had the different size pupil thing too. My difference was profound 2 mm and 10 mm. They said it was from severe brain swelling that was affecting the optic motor nerve. It was also with very high (220/120) bp. I would check it out immediately.
