Re: Anyone have another child after having HELLP?
I had sudden onset of HELLP at 36 weeks. Luckily, my son was small but otherwise healthy. It took me much longer to recover, mentally and physically. Before getting pregnant again, I had blood tests to ensure my liver and kidneys were functioning normally. They were. We had our second child 2 1/2 ye...

Re: feeding problems small full-term baby
Personally, I think I'd have the 'tie' clipped. I really think you'll see improvement. I completely understand about the time it takes to pump and feed - hence why I only BF DS2 for 3 months. It's exhausting. I think the BF community pushes too hard. I understand that 20-30 years ago, BFing was look...

Re: Slow weight gain and genetic abnormalities - SUPPORT NEE
I forgot to mention... I add one scoop of toddler formula to a cup (6-9 oz) whole milk. One scoop is supposed to be mixed with 2 oz of water; I add it to milk because I think toddler formula is a rip-off; whole milk is fine for toddlers. But since I'm trying to maximize calories and nutrients, addin...

Re: Slow weight gain and genetic abnormalities - SUPPORT NEE
You sound a lot like me! My first DS, Miles, was born at 36 weeks, 7lbs, 6 oz. We had weight issue with him initially - related to him being early and me trying to BF - but then he gained fine. He slowly slipped from about the 60th percentile to the 25th for weight, but otherwise on track developmen...

Re: feeding problems small full-term baby
My first DS was born at 36 weeks. He did not feed well, my milk took forever coming in, he had to be hospitalized due to juandice because I didn't know he wasn't getting enough. Ultimately, I pumped (and pumped and pumped) and supplemented with formula for the first 3 weeks until I was sure how much...

Re: Newly diagnosed at 36 wka..lot of questions
Good luck and keep us updated! I had high BP and labs were fine up until 36 weeks. At my 36 week appt, my BP was astronomical and they did more labs. Turned out I had HELLP - with NO other symptoms than high BP. So go get check. In your shoes, I would demand to have the baby immediately. Baby should...

Weight loss buddies Holidays 2010/11 Week 1
I weighed in at 148... I worked out twice last week, none so far this week, despite bringing my workout attire to work with me.
Short term goal - work out twice over the 4 day weekend!

Re: Amnio before delivery or not..
Like you wrote, you can always schedule it and cancel later. If you have no signs of PE/HELLP, I advocate baking as long as possible. It's hard - you'll be so worried and paranoid. I'm honestly not even sure an amnio is needed at 36 weeks. Unless there's IUGR, which can be noted on an u/s, by 36 wee...

Weight loss buddies Holidays 2010/11 Kick Off
Ladies, I'm copying what Teresa did to get us going for keeping off the weight over the holidays! So, like before... We will check in on Tuesdays (starting today) with our current weight, change from last week, goal weight, and a little update. Again, informal thing. Glad to have anyone 'join' anyti...
