Re : 38 weeks today! Yeah!!! (no pre-e)

<t>my3tatertots, I'm normally a try to do everything natural person, but after dealing with pre-e and mag last time...ugh...I just want to avoid that. My midwife knows how much I want to avoid mag and do things naturally, so we're kind of in that do we do something or not kind of spot. If my blood p...

38 weeks today! Yeah!!! (no pre-e)

<t>I'm 38 weeks today. I'm so excited. This is baby #6 for us. Baby #5 I was induced at 37 weeks + 1 day as I developed severe pre-e. So far this one is going good. My blood pressures have risen some(low 140's over low 90's max...mostly in the 130/80 range)...so we are carefully treading water here....

Re : Only diastolic elevated?

<t>Thanks for your response. I was really hoping to go into labor myself this time and not have to be induced(baby #5 was induced at 37 weeks + 1 day due to severe p.e.)...My blood pressures were so good and then I hit 37 weeks, and now they aren't behaving themselves!! My midwife is being very care...

Only diastolic elevated?

<t>Anyone have any clue about the diastolic(bottom) part of the b.p. being elevated but not the systolic? Friday I went in for my 37 week+2 day appt, and my b.p. was a little high(I think 142/92), but no protein, no swelling, headaches, labwork came back good, etc. Anyways, I am supposed to come bac...

Re : It's preeclampsia again :(

<t>HI there. We must have the same due date, as I'll also be 30 weeks on Wednesday. My heart went out to you when I read your posting. I am praying for you and your sweet little boy, and also your daughter, because I'm sure it's hard for all of you being seperated and such. Hope everything goes well...

Re : If you were on Mag for labor were you stuck in bed

<t>I am trying to remember my labor, and it wasn't that long ago, but I felt like I could move around and stuff, but they wouldn't "let me". Even if I could sit up in bed or something to feel like I was helping labor...but my midwife wanted me on my side. I do remember after the baby was born, like ...

If you were on Mag for labor were you stuck in bed

<t>I am wondering for those who have been on mag for labor, were you totally stuck in bed the whole time? With baby #5, I was only "allowed" to get out of bed to pee in the little portable toilet they had right next to my bed. If I develop p.e. again, and have to be on mag, I would really love to be...

Checking your own urine

I'm wondering for those of you that check your own urine, are you using urine strips? Any clue what kind to get? I saw quite a few choices on Ebay, and was just curious what was the right kind. I assume for sure something testing protein.

Thanks, Sara

What testing can they do for underlying disorders?

I have read on this board for a while now, and see mentioned people talking about having had testing for underlying disorders...is that something they do when you are pregnant or only when not? Is it blood work??

Thanks, Sara

Questions about maternal fetal medicine specialist

<r>I am 27 weeks with baby #6, I was diagnosed with severe p.e. with baby #5(delivered with midwives at the hospital). This pregnancy I have still been seeing a midwife, and lots of people here are recommending me seeing a MFM Dr. at the very least for a consult. I found this website: <URL url="http...
