Coping with the holidays

This article has some helpful thoughts both for those with a recent loss and for those who are a few years out: http://stillstandingmag.com/2012/12/coping-with-the-holidays/ My advice would be to do only what you feel up to; nothing more. For anyone who has lost a baby recently, please know that it ...

Re: Hello... Give your updates

I haven't been on the forums much lately either - just too busy! Our rainbow baby is now a healthy, rambunctious 2 year old. Looking back, my 2nd pregnancy seems a distant memory, but at the time it was fraught with anxiety and stress. For those of you currently going through a subsequent pregnancy,...

Re: UTI Experiences?

During my second pregnancy I tested positive for UTI several times in a row, even after antibiotics, so I was just kept on antibiotics for the rest of my pregnancy. I believe that was from about 28 weeks until 36 weeks when I went into labor. I don't remember which antibiotic I was on, but it didn't...

Re: Bittersweet

Re: Consumed by greif

It took me much longer than three months to start getting back to normal again. You can't put a time limit on your grief, and it is unreasonable of others to expect you to do so. It takes time - lots and lots of time. I absolutely hated that I had to tell some of the people in my life to back off an...

Re: My Friend had a Baby yesterday......

Yes, I think feeling like this is very common. I wasn't able to be around any babies for a very long time after my son died. Even now, more than 3 years later, and after a successful pregnancy it is still hard for me to hear about others having easy pregnancies with happy endings. It brings back lot...

Re: Recent loss and I just need some advice, encouragement

Losing a baby to PE tends to leave people with so many questions. There are so many 'what ifs', leaving you to wonder if there was anything you could have done differently. This is so common, but it is very important for you to understand that losing your baby was not your fault. On the day my first...

Still Standing

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share the link for a new online magazine called Still Standing, embracing life after loss and infertility.
http://stillstandingmag.com/

I'm not associated with it in any way. It just launched, so I thought I would share the link.

Re: nursing a preemie

A nipple shield did the trick for me. We tried and tried nursing and then gave up and pumped and bottle fed for a long time, then we were able to transition to breastfeeding with the use of a nipple shield. Some pharmacies carry them; I got some from the hospital; Target also has them.
