Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Kayleigh decided to extubate herself the other night (she's always hate that tube down her throat)...so the doctors decided to try her on the CPAP. She's been on it for 3 days so far and doing better each day. I heard her cry for the first time since she was born when they put the CPAP on her! Ye...

Re : prognosis at 24 weeks?

<r>Congrats on your grandson! I hope he continues to get stronger and healthier everyday! My daughter was 1lb 4oz at birth...she is still in the NICU and is now 2lbs 4oz. She has had many ups and downs, your grandson will probably experience that as well...the NICU is a rollercoaster, but never give...

Re : High BP Postpartum

I would call...my bp has been high since delivery as well and they put me on bp medication when I was discharged. If it was staying 130's/80's they probably wouldn't put you on anything but since you are getting numbers like 160s/100s you might have to be put on meds =/ I'd call just to be safe

Re : prognosis at 24 weeks?

<t>Jane- this sounds alot like my situation. I was put in the hospital at 25 weeks because of restricted blood flow and pre-e. I got daily ultrasounds and fetal monitors, they kept my daughter inside as long as they could. When I was 26.3weeks my blood pressure went sky high and they did an emergenc...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Thanks! The surgery went good...her nurse was very impressed how well she did, they didn't need to use any extra blood or medication on her. She was completely sedated when I left her tonight, a little scary seeing her SO still (she's usually VERY wiggly) but the nurse said she will slowly start ...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>I am doing a little better, still worried...they decided they want to close her PDA before they try feeding again. So tomorrow she will probably have surgery to correct it. I know it's a very common procedure in the NICU, so I'm trying not to be too stressed, but I'm still scared. I just want thi...

<t>Kayleigh weighed in at 2lbs1oz yesterday...on her one month birthday! She just got off the antibiotics yesterday as well...still not feeding yet though..but hopefully within the next couple days! She also had an eye exam today, no signs of ROP yet! (and we're hoping there will be no sign of it at...

Re : NEC??

<t>Hi Audrey :)- Kayleigh is doing ok, she is on antibiotics still, until Sunday...and the surgeons took her drain out. They're still measuring her belly everyday and watching her closely, but so far her belly is nice and soft and her belly measurements are normal. She is at a Children's Hospital no...

Re : Ruling out Pheochromocytoma

Thanks for all the info! It's good to hear about it from someone who actually went through it! I will be making my MRI appointment tomorrow, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. Thanks again!
