Re: Concerned about doctor's policies
That would really make me crazy if the nurses wouldn't tell me my BP and if the Dr. treated me like I knew nothing! I do find that I have to ask for my protein results (usually trace)... I feel like my having the numbers is helpful in whether I worry when I have any other symptoms. My MFM policy is ...

Re: 34 week app with my MFM
That is great! I'm on your heels, and hoping to make it to 39/40 weeks. I have my 34 week appt Friday. My BP seems to be slowly creeping up (as in the bottom number is getting to 70 instead of staying in 60). I repeat my 24 hour urine next week, I feel like that number will be interesting to see (I ...

Re: I keep having little panic attacks
I'm at about the same point as you (will be 33 weeks on Friday). I'm not used to this 3rd trimester stuff either... I do get short of breath when I lay down. I'm also having trouble getting a good night's sleep. I've heard that lack of sleep can raise BP, so I want that sleep!! I do try to nap on da...

Re: Numbness..it is too early
My hands go numb when I sleep too, anytime I have them above my heart level. I think it has happened this whole pregnancy. I have never been concerned, should I?! My mom says I always sleep like a dead dog, if that gives you an idea of my weird hand thing. I think most nights I must move them down w...

Re: MFM frustration.
I'm pregnant with my second and I have seen a MFM this whole pregnancy. I never saw my regular OB. I had HELLP last time and delivered at 28 weeks. I have the mthfr gene but no other disorders and don't have hypertension or anything. Can you find a MFM who will see you? Or perhaps your regular OB ca...

Re: Am I being neurotic? Or legitimately concerned?
It doesn't hurt to ask them to run some labs or go by for a BP check in the office. My dr has said to call if either BP number goes up to that 140/90 level (ie if I get a 120/90 I'm supposed to call or a 140/80). Not sure what your dr has decided is an acceptable BP for you?

Re: How did OB monitor you during 2nd pregnancy?
I'm in my 30th week of a second pregnancy. My first was HELLP at about 28 weeks, daughter was born 3 days after I was admitted to the hospital, and she is fine now (2.5 yrs old). With this pregnancy I'm seeing a MFM. I have zero trust in my old doctors, and feel they missed the onset of HELLP at an ...
