Re : Sent to L&D after my OB appt today

<t>Hang in there Michelle!!! Bedrest is annoying, but at least it might help keep that baby in a bit longer. i hope they decide to do the 24 hr on you afterall. The lab results sound funny to me though. Just be sure to go in to L&D if anything worsens or changes. <br/> <br/> So you're only 32 wk...

Congrats Josette!!! I'm glad to hear that you both are doing well now. Just curious, but would that 6000 ft of altitude put you in CO?

Re : Immuno-compromised Preemies?

<t>Thanks for all your responses. Anton started going to daycare at 8 months old. My DH stayed home with him before that. Like I said it's a state-licensed daycare and she is usually pretty strict about following the rules. The last time Anton got sick from there, the one kid's mom dropped him off &...

Immuno-compromised Preemies?

<t>I'm just wondering if anyone had heard any theories about preemies being immuno-compromised or just plain more susceptible to illness? I am home yet again with Anton for another illness. This time it's Croup and a double ear infection. We headed to the urgent care clinic yesterday for a couple of...

Re : Labetalol and Nursing

<t>I was on Labetalol for 6 weeks after the birth of my son and I was pumping BM for him the entire time. He drank some of that frozen milk for up to 4 months. I read the same warnings after I was discharged and got my meds so I called the hospital pharmacist. She told me that it does leak into the ...

Re : Imporant information-Updated add on

<t>Lucy, I just wanted to mention that there are several types of testing that can be done to detect Pertussis. Here in Colorado, most hospitals will do their own but our state health dept offers a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test for pertussis that will actually detect the DNA of the bacteria. ...

Brochures in foreign languages?

<t>I know that the PF has just recently started the whole brochure campaign, but I would like to stress the need for brochures to be printed in other foreign languages, especially Spanish. The hispanic population in Colorado and many other western states is growing rapidly and language barriers are ...

Re : My update 25 wks 4 days-UPDATED AGAIN

Hey Lucy, glad to hear you're hanging in there. As for the metal speculums, my docs use them, but they are sterilized after each use. My doc rinses it under warm water so it's not so cold & shocking. Hope that helps.
