Re : Anyone have Graves Disease?

Hi Amanda,

I don't have Graves, but I think one or two of our members do, and will be along shortly, I'm sure. Having something to treat is good. Your chances may increase with the thyroid in check. Especially considering how far you got in your last pregnancy.

Re : Time to find a new dr??

<t>It's probably not too realistic to get a new OB at this stage of the game within the same city, and then you risk an even worse experience with someone who doesn't know your history or how to care for you. It sounds to me like your doctor needs a gentle reminder that YOU need him to communicate w...

Re : Updated-now I need help and advice re: ANA panel

<t>It really depends on the test and what lab they send it to. When my MFM order them he sends them to a lab that specializes in these tests. Its in Utah and takes 3 weeks to get the results. My pcp orders them from a local lab, who i dont think is as specific or as accurate, and i get those results...

Re : I couldn't pee

<t>I'm not much of a pee-er, and never had more than 800ml in my 24 hour jugs. Turns out I have whacked kidneys, so I was always retaining fluid. My kidneys all but completely stopped working by the time I delivered. 18 months after delivery I had an Mfm visit and my kidneys were still spilling over...

Re : Jumping out of skin/hyperflexia?

<t>Anxious feelings like that can be caused by central nervous system involvement due to swelling on the brain. This is also the cause of hyperreflexia and some vision disturbances. I felt anxious the day I was hospitalized and just felt an overwhelming urge to shave my legs. At the time i didnt rea...

Re : Discouraged :(

I would think that if you walked into the NICU hospital ill they'd admit you immediately regardless of your doctors status. But there certainly are reasons to keep an MFM on board, regardless of their bedside manner. I'm glad you have a good OB that you trust.

Re : tmi

I'd call. You may need some medication to make you feel better and keep the bile/acid down. I doubt you'd need hospital stay, but if you did, then that is probably what is best. Full disclosure to your doctor is important in these pregnancies (or in any doctor-patient relationship).
