Re : Going to see Dr. E in Oct.

<r>Too bad you can't reschedule for November! We will be having our annual gala "Saving Grace: A Night of Hope" at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. That would be an awesome thing to do while you are there. More details are here: <URL url="http://www.blueskycollaborative.com/pfgrace/">http://www.blueskyco...

Re : homocysteine levels and so on

<t>I'm not a doc, and this is a very simplified explanation, but I hope it helps. There are two types of MTHFR. Heterozygous, meaning a gene mutation on one gene, and homozygous meaning a mutation on BOTH genes. The former is found in 50% of the population and doesn't usually cause problems. The lat...

Re : COQ10

I'm sure it's fine if your OB's have you on it. I am probably behind on the research. I had a friend on it during pregnancy because she has a metabolic disorder.

Re : homocysteine levels and so on

<t>Homocysteine levels are checked if there is an MTHFR (methyl tetra hydro folate reductase) mutation(s). LA is lupus anticoagulant. They might treat your LA with lovenox. MTHFR isn't usually treated with lovenox, but rather folic acid and b vitamins. LDA might help both conditions. <br/> <br/> Are...

Re : COQ10

Vitamins C & E are also antioxidants and were initially thought safe but were proven to be harmful in preeclamptics (made them get sicker, faster). I'm not up to date on research for CoQ10.

Re : BP Medications - Liver Stress

<t>I'd discuss your concerns with your doctor. The benefit of medications have to outweigh the risks. That being said, there are meds to help with the ICP (bile flow, the itch and potentially decrease the risk of stillbirth), which you probably already know. Sorry you are dealing with that btw....th...

<t>Doesn't hurt put a call into the nurse or doctor. Maybe you are coming down with something? Is the URQ pain ligament and stretching pain, or like severe URQ pain?<br/> <br/> With blood flow increasing so much, it can cause dizzy spells and orthostatic hypotension and all those good things. I woul...

Re : Second Time Around Questions about BP spike

<t>A spike like that cn be completely normal. BP's fluctuate throughout the day by up to 20 points. Just keep an eye on it, and monitor your pressures at the same time everyday if possible. There are always other meds they can add to the mix, too. Hang in there! These are nail biters aren't they?</t>

Re : Mag Sulfate

<t>I was on it for a week and DID overdose. They took me off it for a few hours until my levels went down and then I was put back on it. Remember that with PE you are REALLY ill, multi-system organ failure, and such, so some of the side effects aren't just magnesium. It wasn't the worst thing I ever...
