Abnormal Placenta & PE

Does anyone know if there is any link between having a placenta that is somehow abnormal and PE? I had an imbedded placenta and it grew an infection when cultured.

Re : disappointing doctor's visit--Please Help!

<t>I am so sorry for your loss. I too got severe PE early on at 18 weeks and had to deliver my little girl too early on June 29, 2007. I have also been told that another pregnancy might not be a good option for me. I really do feel your pain. I think you should definitely get your OB to run tests fo...

the future

<t>I can't stop thinking about the future. I lost my daughter on June 29. My labor was induced at 18 weeks due to severe PE. I know that the delivery of the baby saved my life, and for that I feel guilty. I am terrified at the prospect of not being able to have another pregnancy; or that if we did t...

Re : Can't do this anymore

<t>I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel...I recently lost my daughter to severe PE at 18 weeks. People keep saying to me that it will be better when things get back to "normal". My response to them is "I'm not sure what normal is now." That pretty much shuts them up. Or people say to me,...

Re : racing pulse

<t>My experience has been that my bp's and pulse are always lower when laying down, but if you have a dull headache that doesn't go away with Tylenol, and your bp is still rising, you might want to check with your doctor, if nothing else just to report it to him/her. Better to call and be safe, than...

Weaning off the meds

<t>Since leaving the hospital on 30mg of Procardia XL and 600mg of Labetalol(sp?)a day, I have been able to drastically reduce my meds to the 30mg of Procardia XL and 100-200mg of Labetalol at day. (I only take a Labetalol in the evening now if my BP is high--140-150/90--I monitor my pressure at hom...

Re : 2 questions: swelling & crying

<t>You are definitely not being too demanding! Is the OB you are seeing a maternal fetal medicine specialist? I know that the MFM specialist that I had during my pregnancy (where I got severe PE at 18 weeks and had to deliver) was always very concerned about any swelling in the body, no matter where...

Re : Preeclampsia at 18 weeks

<t>I just learned of the preliminary autopsy report for my little girl...She had a cystic hygroma at the back of the neck (but right now they can't say why, since they originally thought it was becuase of Turner's Syndrome), and that she had an enlarged heart and liver with excessive fluids in the s...
