I love the irony that a post about spamming has just been spammed....

Re: Questions about preeclampsia

The current recommendation is to deliver after 37 weeks even for just mild PE. Ask your doctor what his/her criteria is for delivery and whether you should move forward now rather than waiting for things to get severe.

Re: How do I delete my account?

It looks like an admin would have to be involved. Do you want all your previous posts removed, or just no longer want to participate?

Re: Wanting a baby after eclampsia in a third world country

You aren't crazy. It sounds like you didn't have PE until post partum? The fact that you got it so late means your risk of having it again, while still higher than someone who had never had it, is lower than someone who got it early. I don't know what the recurrence is like for post partum hemorrhag...

Re: How to convince my husband we should try

Is it *possible* that a woman would die while being closely monitored for PE? Yes. Is it *likely* that you would die while being closely monitored for PE? No. It may help your husband to go with you to a preconception appointment with an OB or MFM (high risk doctor). He can get an idea of how closel...

Re: Scared f preeclampsia for my twins

Welcome! I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. Congrats on the twins! I'm also a twin mom. I had PE with all of my pregnancies to make it far enough, including my twins. A high risk doctor will watch you closely and have the best idea of how to manage your pregnancy for the best possible outcome.

Re: Atypical pre-eclampsia

I'm glad to hear you had blood work done. With the rib pain and headache, it's a good idea to check for HELLP syndrome. You have several warning sign symptoms. One of the hard things about PE is that many of the symptoms could be PE, could be regular pregnancy stuff, or could be something unrelated....

Re: Atypical pre-eclampsia

I was already in pretty bad shape when I was diagnosed my first time. I was induced right away, before the liver enzymes went up. I've had PE two more times, but no HELLP. Second time was milder and later than first. Third time doesn't compare well because I had twins.

Re: Preeclampsia without symptoms

I am so sorry for your loss.

There is nothing you did or failed to do that caused you to have preeclampsia. It is indeed a problem with the placenta, and begins at implantation before you even know you are pregnant. Even very healthy women can get it.
