Re : Just diagnosed with preeclampsia, UPDATE!!!

<t>I'm military too and was pregnant with my first while at Camp Lejeune, but my husband was TAD at Norfolk for most of my pregnancy so I transferred my care there and stayed with him in a furnished apartment so he would be there for the birth (oh the crazy things military spouses do...). Check to s...

Re : Just diagnosed with preeclampsia, UPDATE!!!

I was told that the visual distrubances are more like flashes of light, not spots, with PE and HELLP. I saw tiny stars with DS2 (ended up completely normal pregnancy) and was told it was ok.

Re : Just diagnosed with preeclampsia, UPDATE!!!

I second the others - go to L&D and have them take labs. I had no symptoms but had HELLP.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Re : 2 months old & visitors’ vaccines

<t>Emily - DS#1 did get sick a lot too. But I tend to view it as "immune building". They either get sick a lot when they start pre-school or kindergarten, or get sick as babies when they go to daycare. It's harder on them and us when they are babies - they can't tell us what hurts, and things can go...

Re : 2 months old & visitors’ vaccines

<t>First, I will say as a parent you have every right to keep your baby healthy. Hurting your FILs feelings and making him wait until Christmas isn't that big of deal in the grand scheme of life.<br/> That said, I personally am not that worried about germs. I took DS2 when he was 1 week old to a res...

Re : Just diagnosed with preeclampsia, UPDATE!!!

<t>30 weeks is a good place to be. It is completely normal to be scared, and also completely normal that other people don't understand. Sometimes they mention that other women have had it and all turned out fine is their attempt to reassure you, or reassure themselves. People don't like thinking abo...

Re : Hemachromatosis?

<t>The Red Cross currently won't take blood that is being donated for "treatment" reasons, except in select cities. IMO, it's really stupid. The Red Cross opinion has been that you can only donate for altruistic reasons, even though they agree there's nothing wrong with the blood. My sister has to h...

Hemachromatosis?

<t>Hemachromatosis is a fairly common condition - usually inherited - where the body absorbs more iron than it should. This, in turn, can lead to heart and liver issues. Problems usually don't develop in men until 30-50 yrs old, and with women, after menopause. My uncle has it, and my sister has it....

Re : Medical Records...

<t>Look up HIPPA. It requires health care providers to give you access to records; I believe here are timelines to comply with, but I think each state set up their own rules. You can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Office of Civil Rights. That should speed thi...

Re : Am I the only one that...

<t>Not to scare you, but you'll never have a normal pregnancy. Not because you can't physically have a "healthy" pregnancy, but because its unlikely you'll be able to relax and enjoy a pregnancy. I had PE/HELLP with DS1. With DS2, my pregnancy was fairly normal... but I was going insane out of fear ...
