Re: Really not sure if exercise is good during pregnancy..

I had to laugh about the first article...it had a typo and said 150 hours versus minutes :-) I was like wow....that is a lot of exercise even for a non pregnant person! I agree with what has been said in the thread..... it has a lot to do with what you were doing before... If you were not exercising...

Re: I love my doctors!

I think the other thing to factor into this is that though Pre-e patients have high medical needs we are still there to deliver a baby, and everyone has some type of hopes for that overall experience--even when you are realistic of your medical needs. And when you have doctors that make the experien...

Re: I love my doctors!

I have mixed feelings on this topic. I agree it is a tough line with pre-e to know exactly what needs to be done when, so I don't blame various docs for handling things differently, as they usually are trying to do what they think is best. I guess where I find the differences lie is how capable doct...

Re: Preemie gender-how much does it affect the outcome?

My son was born just under 34 weeks also, and he spent 2 weeks in the NICU--mainly a feeder and grower (he was just under 4 lbs when born). He needed the lights for jaundice at first, and then from there it was about growing and making sure he could feed. The NICU nurses mentioned that thing about t...

Re: Probably one for the Experts......

I was thinking it was pretty standard that if you had the readings over 160/100, regardless of protein you were considered severe pre-e. And weren't your pressures at least that high in your last pregnancy? It seems like they were if I remember correctly. I know I have said this before, but my eleva...

Re: holding your baby in the NICU

That is strange that so many were not able to hold their baby much. My son was born at just under 34 weeks, so he was just under 4 lbs, so maybe it was due to his size and being pretty stabile, but we were always encouraged to hold him. I know the early days in the NICU we did kangaroo care once, an...

Re: stopping night feedings

A little late on this, but here are my thoughts: Up until our son was 8 mos old he would wake for a bottle at 4 am or so and then go back to sleep. At that age we decided that it was probably habit and not an actual need for a bottle, and started the process of letting him fuss. I was so scared abou...

Re: We've made our decision...

I think you will find some relief in simply making a decision....I know once I made mine to stick with one I felt a huge relief, and even often thought to myself--why was I even considering another one once I realized the benefits of one :-) First off like you said, any healthy child is a blessing a...

Re: Ugg my husband is upset because we are not trying yet.

In my case I have decided not to try for a second for many reasons, but mostly because I feel comfortable with one and not certain I really want more than one. But also because I seemed to have gotten through the first round of pre-e okay, and don't want to chance it with another one. I am not reall...

Re: Diet Sodas and Blood Pressure

That is so interesting..... I only drink diet sodas occasionally when eating out--but not on a regular basis. That said, my bp has been fairly low lately and I am trying to think if I have had less diet soda. I don't have much else to explain the lower bp at the moment, but I really like it that low...
