Re : 20 week appointment and off to the UW - have ?'s
<t>I finally got the authorization code from my health insurance yesterday (we have an HMO - they were glad to authorize, just took awhile). So, today I will get the appointment set up. I am so looking forward to going, it will give me a bit more piece of mind as well as it feels good to be taken se...

Re : Any external versions out there for breech babies?
<t>Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl, although it was not what you wanted or expected you now have a wonderful little life to hold, I am so glad that you were monitored so closely. Your little one was very close to my little ones size, it took my little one a while to learn to breast fe...

Re : BP going up at 15 weeks
<t>My bp went up at about 16 weeks this pregnancy, and not as high as yours - this is a time when it should be going down!!! My OB said that we would wait until my next appointment and if it was still up that she would send me to the UW hypertensive clinic for some testing. I am now headed there - i...

Re : Magnesium sulfate and breastfeeding
<t>Here is another view point - I was on mag for the delivery and then 24 hours afterwards - my dd was jaundiced and did not do well with breast feeding at the beginning. We worked through it and it ended up being fine, although I did go on some medication to help my milk supply come better. Honestl...

Re : Question of the day: what made you deliver?
<t>At 37 1/2 weeks I had my first (and last) of my one week appointments. I had gained 5 pounds that week, had seen stars that morning and my bp was 150/90 - I was sent to the hospital to get some lab work done, and then my OB decided to send me to L&D instead to get checked out. The nurse at L&...

Re : they think i may have pre-e...but
<t>I know that when I developed pre-eclampsia, it was at 37 1/2 weeks - my OB sent me to the hospital - my bp was 150/90 and my test results came back normal as well, my choices were to get induced right then or wait until morning (in the hospital) and see how I was. We chose induction since the bab...

20 week appointment and off to the UW - have ?'s
<t>First of all, I want to reiterate how happy I am to have found this site - it feels so much better to go to my doctor appointments armed with knowledge.<br/> <br/> During my last pregnancy I ended up with Pre-e at 37 1/2 weeks and got induced that day. At first here I was calling it PIH - then Pr...

Re : Question of the Day re: family size
<t>My husband has always wanted to stop at #2 - actually he would have been fine with one, but he conceded to 2. I however would love more babies. I ended up with Pre-e my 1st time around and so far at twenty weeks this time all has been well (we'll see after my OB appointment later today). I don't ...

Re : Advice for a worried mom of a pregnant teen
I too have finger and hand numbness, for me it comes from laying on my side, I get it in both hand. Although it happens when I am not pregnant, it happens way worse during pregnancy for me, especially since I am on my side. Glad to hear things are going well.

Re : Any external versions out there for breech babies?
<t>I had a vaginal delivery with my first baby - we will see what happens this time. My OB always said, "there is always a chance of having a C-section until the babiew shoulders come out." I really think that this helped me to realize that it was a possibility. I was induced and on mag, and it was ...
