Re: age related infertility - how long before seeking help?

How long have you been trying for now? Did you have problems conceiving Henry? I had two m/c between losing Alice and getting pregnant with Rachel - so that took me nearly a year in total (I was just short of 39 when I got pregnant again with Rachel). It felt awfully long at the time, but given my a...

Re: In Hospital and Frusterated with Dr's

Yes, your nurse is an idiot! Total idiot! Really sorry, I would be livid and demanding better care in your situation. Those are dangerously high systolic blood pressures. They should be trying to get that down pronto - no hanging about wondering what to do next or going off for a chat about it. Its ...

Re: Anyone in the UK?

Hi, Yes I was tested for thrombophilia several times - all negative. My ob (who was also a PE expert) also told me that increasingly the evidence does not favour heparin even for women who have thrombophilia - so really did not want me on that. I do understand the desire to want to do something diff...

Re: Anyone in the UK?

No real preparation except emotional I guess. I took low dose aspirin, calcium supplements and high dose folic acid from 12 weeks. If you've been offered a care package for a subsequent pregnancy that you want to run by someone else just let me know. I would expect you'll be offered as a minimum ute...

Re: Anyone in the UK?

I'm so so sorry to hear about your son, and hope you can find the support you need here. Yes, I'm one of the active UK members here. There is a small UK support group, but its not very active compared with this one. My first daughter died (stillborn) at 26 weeks over two years ago now, my wonderful ...

Re: Fear about not conceiving

Don't give up yet! 3 months is no time at all (at 39 years!). I've just had my 40th birthday and my second little girl is now 6 months old. I know all these emotions only too well - my first daughter Alice died just days before my 38th birthday! It took me probably 8 months or so to get pregnant aga...

Re: Early Onset of Pre-eclampsia

Fraulinebeck, I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. My first daughter died two just over 2 years ago now - I had early onset PE (around 25 weeks) and HELLP post-partum. I did not feel ill until near the end despite very severe disease. And my first daughter was stillborn even though I was alr...

Re: Is there more I should do?

I would just go back to L & D and make a fuss again. You feel bad - that's enough reason to go back in. Sometimes symptoms can be the first sign of things getting worse - so for you and your baby's sake just go back in. They should be paying attention to your symptoms as well as BP / lab results, an...
