Re: Aspirin during pregnancy???

I took it from the time I got a positive test until about 34-35 weeks, for both of my relatively healthy pregnancies. Our boys are 2 and 8 months and seem to be just fine. :)

Definitely find a new doctor! Are you positive the incision on your uterus isn't vertical? I haven't heard of anyone being able to have a regular incision that early but hopefully you are an exception. (The scar on your skin could be a regular horizontal scar while there may be a vertical incision o...

Re: Mother's Day coming up and I'm feeling sad

I'm so sorry for your loss. The early days and first year especially are so so hard, especially the holidays and stuff like Mother's day. I remember feeling like I would never be normal again. And it's true, in a sense, my normal is definitely much different then it was before we lost our daughter, ...

Re: Enzyme question!

Most doctors don't deliver for protein in the urine, so I personally would be ok with not doing another 24 hr urine yet. Aside from the bloodwork, how do you feel? Swelling? Headaches? Etc? If you are still feeling pretty good, I would try to pretend you never had the bloodwork, of course keep an ey...

Re: Good glucose screening result!

Great number! That said, they ABSOLUTELY should have you do another test, ask for it if they don't, since gestational diabetes can develop anytime and most commonly develops between 24ish-30ish wks, if I remember correctly from my gestational diabetes class. (I had it in my 2nd prg but not the 3rd, ...

Finding a regular doctor? (ie. Not an OB/MFM)

I never really cared very much for my regular doctor anyway, I saw her maybe 3 or 4 times in 6ish years, she wasn't very thorough but did whatever I asked so it was okay. She never really commented on my pregnancy history or anything. She ended up moving away, so now I have a good OB and a good MFM ...

Re: Got my second beta :-) and no doc appointment yet???

Good number! HCG is not a great indication for twins really, I had super high numbers with my boys and had singletons. In my first pregnancy they were high enough to freak my RE out and have his nurse call me for a 5 wk ultrasound to see how many gestational sacs. While people with numbers in the no...

Re: Preeclampsia diagnosis by doctor

I am sorry you are going through this. Technically, the diagnostic criteria for preeclampsia is two readings of 140/90 or higher, and 300 mg of protein or more in a 24 hour urine. So you meet that if you have had readings of 140/90 twice, regardless of when/where. Being dehydrated and/or sick should...

Re: High Risk for Pre Eclampsia

Welcome, I'm glad you made it over here and decided to join/post. I already talked to you on the other forum but will chime in here, hopefully others will too. Question: If I catch these signs earlier can they do things to help prevent me or the baby from getting sick/sicker? Unfortunately, the only...

Re: Concerned about dx/monitoring

Welcome! For what it's worth, my MFM's call in rules for me were: -blood pressure at/over 140/90 (my bp is normally around 110/60-70's) -bad headache that won't go away with tylenol -upper right quadrant pain (pain around your ribcage/bra strap/shoulder blade/etc.) -gain 5 lbs or more in a day or so...
