Re: may be joining you soon (again)...

Our boys are 18 months apart. Obviously I love them both dearly but oh my, the last several months have been really miserable. DS2 is a very high maintenance baby and is just now starting to get a little better. In hindsight, now that I see how much better Lucas is with him and in general now at alm...

Re: Would You Risk It?

I think to some extent it is a crap shoot. I have a friend who was very overweight, high bp, with a strong family history of pre-eclampsia and diabetes. She had 2 healthy pregnancies. I was about 25, normal weight, good bp, no family history, and developed severe pre-e at 23 wks that killed our daug...

Re: June Bug

Congratulations! I had steroid shots around 31, 32 weeks in both my pregnancies with my boys. Not a doctor, but I absolutely would wait for steroids until the early 30's if nothing else is amiss. They are more effective the closer they are given to delivery. Did you have a c-section with your first ...

Re: Lovenox or Heparin during pregnancy

I was on it (60 mg lovenox in my 2nd prg, 30 mg in my 3rd) plus aspirin, no clotting disorders. For me the risks were a no brainer after losing our daughter...I probably would have let them chop off my arm if they thought it might help. I did get hurt in my 3rd pregnancy, trying to break up my dogs ...

Re: When should aspirin be started?

I've taken it from a positive pregnancy test for my second and third pregnancies, no pre-e for either, though the lda may not have had much to do with it. Who knows.I did not have issues with bleeding.

Re: Protein in urine but blood pressure still normal

I had a 24 hr urine of 700ish with my newest son around 31 wks, plus swelling, but made it 37 wks,no NICU time. (BP stayed pretty decent.) For what it's worth, DS1 was a 36 weeker and did no NICU time, while I have a friend whose baby was just born at 39 wks (on her own. not induced), and she is in t...

Re: Pre-eclampsia at 25 weeks, need advice

No crystal balls here either, but the average time from diagnosis to delivery is 2 weeks. Keep in mind that's just the average though, which includes people like me who are diagnosed and delivered the same day, and people who may make it 10+ weeks. If you haven't gotten much, or any, worse since you...

Hmm.

So would this change after multiple pregnancies? (Based on the theories), or would every pregnancy be the same/ "starting over"?

Interesting!

I have a friend who had this test done several months ago. Would that sort of thing show up in the results or was it just noted for this study? (She has a strong family history of pre-eclampsia and lost her first baby at 26 wks, unexplained stillbirth mostly but they think maybe clots.)

Re: Lovenox question

Thanks! I started low dose aspirin as soon as I got a positive pregnancy test until a few days before delivery. My MFM actually thought it was more important/helpful than the lovenox.
