Re: Labile blood pressure

Hello and welcome to the forums! It could be that your BP is trending upwards, which this early into your pregnancy is usually referred to as "chronic hypertensive". I probably would invest in getting a home BP machine with an upper arm cuff and monitor. You'd want to take your BP a few times a day,...

Re: 2nd pregnancy and baby aspirin

I was very scared during my subsequent pregnancy! It is a frightening journey, and not a pleasure cruise, unfortunately! Counseling helped me regulate my emotions during that time. I hope you can find ways to ease your mind. We'll be here to hold your hand along the way :D I was on baby aspirin duri...

How are you doing? Is the medication keeping your BP in check? I have been thinking of you and hope all is well!

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

PE is very confusing! Nobody knows how it will progress and thus doctors will make day-to-day decisions! I am glad, however, that the MFM is keeping a close eye on you and your placenta!

Did you get the results from your 24-hour urine collection?

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

I am glad you were seen by the MFM. I am glad she gave you clear guidelines :D How far along are you now? And are you on any BP medication?

I hope that your BP will stay stable. Let us know how your appointment with the midwives will go.

Re: High Protein in Urine, A Reason to Deliver Early?

Elevated levels of protein alone are usually not a reason to deliver (this is at least what my doctors kept telling me). Most of the time there are other factors that play a role, like high-blood pressure, vision changes, or (as it was the case for me during my first pregnancy) a detaching placenta ...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

If you don't feel 100% comfortable with your current MFM, you can try to get a second opinion if this is an option for you (depending on where you live and/or your insurance). Some doctors just are not good communicators and/or have poor bedside manners even though they are great doctors otherwise. ...

Re: chronic hypertension

Hello and welcome back! Congratulations on your pregnancy! It is very scary to go through a pregnancy again after having had PE. The good thing is that you know what can happen and you also know much better what your care needs are and can advocate for yourself in a very different way. I hope that t...
