Re: surrogacy

Yes, I've thought about it and my doc did suggest it... but it's way too expensive for me to consider. Since you already have some embryos on ice the cost might not be too bad for you if you could find a close friend/relative to be a surrogate for you. The cost of "hiring" someone is pretty high, I ...

Re: Looks Like We're Losing This Baby Too :(

Oh, no, I'm so sorry to hear that. Two losses must be so hard to bear, especially this close together. The doc said it was probably a genetic issue, but I'd still want to gather all the information about my body and health that I possibly could.
I wish you strength to manage this.

Re: What to do about.......advice

Almost 2 years later... I still have all of Millie's stuff (though I did not have a crib yet, which is a fairly large item). Everything else I tucked away in a closet and figured it will take as long as it takes for me to be okay giving away/getting rid of all those items. And if I never feel okay w...

Re: Hypertension in pregnancy: The current state of the art

Any chance of getting the full article rather than just the abstract. If we're talking "state of the art" I'd like to read the whole thing.

Re: Confused, emotionally, physically, mentally

Soleil Sophia, what a beautiful name. I'm so sorry she didn't get a chance to live. Preeclampsia is a terrible disease that took my daughter's life away too. It's the worst, worst thing. I remember complaining to my doc about the amount of swelling I had too- it wasn't Summer yet and I was only in t...

Re: Here we go!

I remember reading a research article correlating high stress with higher incidences of pregnancy complications (I don't remember the details though I believe it was discussed on this forum at one point); however, Caryn- who is much more up on the good research than me- recently posted information o...

Re: Lost my sister. Lost without my sister.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. This awful disease preeclampsia/eclampsia/HELLP has taken so many loved ones, including my own baby girl. I know this is no consolation at all, but at least your niece will have you to tell her all the stories about her Mama, all the crazy and wonderful things...

Re: Chronic HTN

I haven't had a subsequent pregnancy, but my OB said the same thing yours said about not having another pregnancy. Such a devastating thing to hear. I have heard that from several other posters too. However, I also saw an MFM who did not discourage me from trying again and I have not heard (on this ...
