Re: HELLP at 40+1... no pre-e diagnosis before then

**HUGS** Like you, and what seems like far more than the word "atypical" would have us believe, I developed HELLP without any pre-e. [https://www.preeclampsia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=42655] I think it's perfectly natural to be worried about experiencing HELLP a second time around and while we...

Re: Post HELLP issues

Hi! Firstly **HUG** from another HELLP survivor in the UK and many congrats on becoming a mum! I'm afraid I can't help with your ongoing medical problems, my only advice would be to keep up the pressure on every medical person possible - don't be afraid to make a nuisance of yourself :) Hope everyth...

Re: 4 years on and still impacted by HELLP

I just wanted to say **HUG** and that I'm here if I can help. Its only been 4 months since I first heard of HELLP (https://www.preeclampsia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=42655); but I've yet to find a counsellor or medical person who really understands; my Obs consultant was superb at saving our li...

Re: 8 weeks later and I'm "google-ing" HELLP

Just wanted to update. It's now just over 4 months since the birth of my son, we are both healthy :) I have finally been discharged from Obs; their final verdict was severe atypical class 1 HELLP (it turns out my labs were worse than we were initially told, with liver functions between 50 and 100 ti...

Re: What does the abdominal pain feel like?

I had mild pain on my right-side just under my ribs - I "laughed" it off as the baby kicking me and never mentioned it to anyone as it wasn't that bad and came and went - the first time I remember noticing it was at 32 weeks and I wasn't induced until my blood pressure started to rise at 38weeks - g...

Re: ? about reoccurance in subsequent pregnancy

My consultant told me that I would be at a higher risk than the "average" woman for getting HELLP with a subsequent pregnancy but that they would give me baby aspirin and monitor me and he said if I got HELLP again it would most likely be less severe than the first time (not terribly helpful as they...

8 weeks later and I'm "google-ing" HELLP

and I came across this board - I'm sure I'll spend the next few days reading posts as I want to find out as much as I can about HELLP and to do what I can to help other people with it, but in the meantime here is my story: Baby Lee's birth story I guess starts at 34weeks, when my platelet count star...
