Re: feeding problems small full-term baby

Hi, Thanks again everyone. I've realised from pumping more that it can take ages (20-30 minutes of vigorous pumping) for me to get a let down, and wonder if its taking me that long and that much effort if it might be the same for DD and that is why she is taking up to 2 hours to feed and not gaining...

Re: feeding problems small full-term baby

Thanks again - I don't really want to give up the idea of breast feeding without a fight, so to speak. I really wanted Rachel to have the "best" start in life I could give her, and also the convenience of breast feeding rather than all the sterilising and making feeds up. I should be able to get mor...

UPDATE: please advice? Re: feeding problems small full-term

Hi, I've had the midwives visit again today and my baby is still only 2.7 kg (meaning she has gained no weight at all for one week, and is still half a pound below her birthweight at 14 days only). She was not that small (6lb 5oz nor premature at birth - 38+2 - so I can't blame that. The midwives ad...

Re: feeding problems small full-term baby

Thanks - I think one of the problems is that all the local lactation consultants / support groups etc. are "shut down" for xmas and new year, so although I've been trying to access help its a bit difficult at the moment and will be until mid january. I am in the UK and the xmas holiday period is qui...

feeding problems small full-term baby

Hi, I had my baby on 17th dec by c section at 38+2 gest due to transverse lie [no pe this time!] she was 6lb 5oz, dropped to 5lb 13oz, now 6lb 0oz. We've had feeding problems since day 2 (when my milk came in). I've been terribly engorged and cracked / bleeding at times. I exclusively pumped for a d...

Re: Wow! Have a living baby....

Thanks to everyone for their messages - I am still quite overwhelmed one week on. I took low dose aspirin, calcium / Vit D supplements and folic acid 5mg - all from 12 weeks. Its hard to know whether these made any difference or if things would have gone very different this time whatever I had done ...

Wow! Have a living baby....

Hi, Am just out of hospital. Rachel May was born last friday by c section at 16:44pm ("normal" one not a classical one in the end) due to transverse lie (actually spinningly unstable lie!). They did not recommend induction; wanted me to wait a few more days to make it closer to 39 weeks but agreed t...

Re: Update - admitted to hospital now but not for PE

Thanks everyone - its very tedious and uncomfortable but we are both still fine. Being back on an ante-natal ward is a real test of my nerves and emotions (Alice died there), but I am coping ok. There is no question this will be my last pregnancy - my DH particularly always wanted more (and I obviou...

Update - admitted to hospital now but not for PE

Hi, just wanted to let you know I am now in hospital for the rest of pregnancy due to transverse lie - its seems that has been causing me the side pain I've been moaning about a bit. My baby has been head down and deep in the pelvis every scan from 30-36 weeks, and I've had them every 2 weeks - so I...
