Re: blood pressure spikes

Yay for almost 32 weeks!!! IMO it sounds like your meds are doing what they should - and maybe they might be adjusted at your next appt?? I am now CHT and notice that if I forget my morning dose (I take meds once a day, in the morning) my BP slowly rises a bit, then goes back to "normal" after takin...

Re: Introducing myself, telling my story, and asking a few ?

I think what is important in these situations is to keep our perspective - having been high-risk before increases the odds of you being at-risk in the future. Which, in turn, most likely means medical intervention is more realistic than a non-medical or natural birth. I am constantly surprised when ...

Re: If you got pre-e and/or HELLP after having HELLP in firs

I joked during my second pregnancy that I looked like a junkie with all the needle marks on my arm.

A kind nurse told me after a blood draw to keep pressure on the spot for at least 2 minutes to reduce bruising. It seemed to work for me.

And yup, lots of poking and prodding.

Re: mag. & automatic NICU stay

I was on mag with Sofia during my "big" hospital stay - then released. The last week I was in, before her birth, I was not on mag - either way, there was no NICU time.

HTH!

<t>I sit here unsure what to write, as my opinion isn't very optimistic. I am so very sorry you and your family are going through this.<br/> <br/> I am by no means a medical professional, but a woman who is passionate about learning more about the disease that affected my life twice and helping othe...

<t>Hello Joe. I am so very sorry to read of your wife's diagnosis. <br/> <br/> I did not have HELLP but from what I have read (here) it is truly horrible, as you've said.<br/> <br/> 19 weeks is not considered viable outside the womb. <t>Samantha, I read your post a few days ago but wasn't sure how to respond. I think Carin responded beautifully - that you really have to go with what feels right for you.<br/> <br/> Isn't it amazing how we just can't plan everything in pregnancy? I, too, am a planner. I need to work through the si...

<t>(((Korie))) I have no idea how to handle it other than family and friends.<br/> <br/> With Henry, I was in Ohio when I was pregnant and on bedrest. Re : does it soynd like its gettimg worse? opinions?

<t>I agree with Kara, but want to stress the urgency of getting checked out ASAP. Not only does this disease move quickly, but there really is no time table for progression. For some women, it moves within one hour, for others, weeks.<br/> <br/> And about the numbers, I would think the difference ma...
