I was looking at the March of Dimes site since we are now in alliance with them. They have a program with Coinstar where people can donate their change to them though the kiosks.

Also, my DH is an Elk. They have these cards from Kroger (Kroger Care Cards). Everytime these are scanned, Kroger donates $$ to the Elks. Maybe would should check into this type of thing too.

I haven't done a ton of research, but these sound like areas where we can raise money without haveing to spend any money.

These do sound like great ideas. And I will be happy to add them to my list of possible fundraisers to look into.

If you can do a little more research about the Kroger Care Cards and email me about how they work. For example, would we get our own Kroger Care Cards that PF members can use to have money donated?

I wish I had more time to research all the great ideas I recieve in a timely manner, but there are SO many really good possibilities for fundraisers that I have to take one or two at a time, to give them each the attention they deserve and decide if they will work for our foundation...which can take some time. I really appreciate you keeping an eye out for fundraising opportunites and any help you can give me concerning the Care Cards.

Escrips does it here with the grocery stores, but I think that may be limited to just educational fundraising

I have an idea for fundraising that is pretty fun. The diabetes association does a bike race to raise money we could do the same thing. My husband has been cycling(road bike) for over 17 years now and is actually a cycling coach. I think it would be a really cool and fun way to raise more money for awareness and what not.
Just an idea if you like it and want to learn more on how we could do this contact me because my husband could help us out and give us suggestions on how to go about it.

We are definitely interested in details about any fundraising ideas that PF members have. Is this an event you are willing organize or are you suggesting the idea for someone else to organize.

Either way, details would be helpful to add to the "how to" fundraising booklet I am working on. This year, the PF "plate" is full of new events, but this sounds like something we can put in the idea file and pursue later.

I have had another idea. What about a scrapathon. I saw it in my scrapbook magazine I get monthly. What you do is you pay a fee anywhere from $25-50 to go and scrapbook for the day. It's basically like WAT where in order to walk you pay a fee. In the magazine it showed people doing it to raise money for Katrina, breast cancer etc.
I love to scrapbook and think it would be a great way to raise some money and plus people would be able to finish some of their scrapbooks as we know having kids you don't get as much time to do it, at least I don't![:)]
What do you all think?

Nice idea about scrapathon. Scrapbooking seems to be "the craze" at the moment (sorry, not for me).
Shelly has two cousins who have a scrapbooking business. I think we will pursue this idea.

I know I emailed you off line, but I wanted to add for anyone who may read this and be interested...this could even be a monthly event for state groups or just a PE survivor and her friends. Make it into a fun girls' night out. You could charge $20 and buy a couple of pizzas for everyone, with the rest going to the PF...I know I've paid $15-20 just to go to a store to scrapbook. If anyone plans on doing this, please let me know so we can put it on the calendar and also get a report of how you did. Thanks again for the idea.
