Calling all Bakers

If amazing desserts are your specialty in the kitchen, please let us know. I have to be deliberately vague until this idea gets a bit more baked (ha - pun intended), but if you enjoy baking and you're pretty darn good at it, please list your name, your speciality, and your state. Trust me, you're gonna love this one and it won't cost you much more than the ingredients of your delectable edible!

When you say **if amazing deserts are your speciality in the kitchen** do you mean eating them? If so, I qualify. :)

I wouldn't say I'm good at baking, but depending on the request I might be able to rally some folks (husband & neighbor) that know their way around a kitchen. We are in Virginia.

Hi Eleni - I am a pretty good baker (mostly due to my mom's great receipes and help) and would love to be involved in something to help. Thanks!

According to my husband, my pecan, pumpkin and apples pies are amazing. My sister, aunt and I love to bake.

I like to bake, but don't really have a specialty. Hubby marvels over my banana bread. I do admit to not baking any elaborate items. Usually the kids want to help, so I just don't go there. ;-)

Thanks for all the contributions thus far. Here's what we're doing and what we still need: one of our Live Auction items for Saving Grace is going to be a Dessert-A-Month type of item with the winning bidder receiving a new dessert each month from across the country. Here's the description:

Twelve families from across the United States have committed to sending you a homemade dessert for a once-a-month sweet indulgence. What makes this special?  Each dessert comes from a family deeply touched by preeclampsia and/or HELLP Syndrome. They have made this commitment as a way to demonstrate a nationwide show of gratitude for your support of the Preeclampsia Foundation’s mission to save lives and alleviate suffering. Your sweet delivery begins in January with our very own Jill Owens Siegel's family recipe for Dr. Pepper Cake!

As a contributor, all you need to do is prepare your dessert and ship it to the winning bidder during your assigned month. A nice touch would be to include a bit about your story and a note of thanks for their support.

What we still need are some bakers in the Western United States -- I have California and Colorado covered. The midwest is well represented, but could still use somebody in the New England area.

Becky in Virginia
Jill in California
Rosemary in Pennsylvania
Nicole in Texas

I've got you all signed up and just need you to email me your full names/contact info and what you're going to prepare. (Denise, I'm sure your banana bread is delicious (feel free to send it to me personally!!), but I'm heavy in the middle US and need some folks on the ends.

Thanks everybody!!

Sounds like a fun auction item. I may have to enter a bid myself. ;-)
