Thanks Jill!! I had'nt got my member list yet. Can't wait to get the Virginia girls rocking!! I am very excited!! We did community lock ups, someone had to pay for their friends, loved ones, etc. to get out of jail, was very interesting, and fun. We also sold a tremendess amount of doughnuts, I live right next to Krispy Kreme, sold candy bars, community yard sell, in which people who wanted to get rid of household stuff they brought it to us, donated it, and we had a big yard sell, and also raised money by relay walks, and selling merchandise at these. Hope this helps!!

Hi K: Wow, such enthusiasm! We love hearing about new members. Your nursing and fundraising backgrounds sound wonderful. What did you do with the Red Cross? We are always interested in new ideas for fundraising.

Very sorry hear about the loss of your mother to cancer, and the passing of Carson to PE. Many members are here because they lost a child and want to get the word out about PE. The members here are great and are wonderful support.

The following link is for the PF Virginia Group. They would love to hear from you: http://www.preeclampsia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2900

Thank you for posting. [:)]

Dear Jennifer:

Welcome and thank you for posting! I'm very sorry for the loss of your daughter, and congratulations on the birth of your son. I'm glad you found us.

Thank you for your support and passion for our goals. We are always looking for members to support local awareness. This is even more important as we now have preeclampsia brochures ready for distribution. Carol, our National Group Coordiantor, is leading this campaign. She is encouraging local groups to plan brochure distribution for their areas.

Jennifer, have you met Cara whose post is at the top of page 3? You are both in the Great State of Louisiana!

Thanks again for posting!

I have a B.A. in English and love to write, non-fiction, promotional materials, poetry, you name it. I have a good deal of poetry related to pregnancy loss, PE, and infertility if anyone's interested. I have worked as a paralegal for 9 years and have a lot of experience with research/investigation, both computerized and book-based research. If you ever need free legal research, I'm your gal.. of course it will have to reviewed by an attorney, but maybe it won't take as much of his/her time, thus save you some $$. I previously worked for an advertising agency doing layout, editing and writing ad copy. I feel a calling to support other women enduring the things i have been through, and would like to start a local support group. I particularly enjoy writing and talking about issues of faith as they relate to pregnancy loss and infertility. I hope to write a book on this subject someday. More than anything, I am passionate about getting the word out about PE so some naive young woman like I was doesn't have to go through the same hurt.
Let me know if I can help in any way!

Hi! Just stumbled onto this thread. Better late than never.

I have a PhD in molecular/cell biology and am director of an R&D group at a biotech company. Although I probably would not feel comfortable writing a grant related to PE, I would be delighted to edit/proof grants or papers (I have a knack for it). I'm also quite a good public speaker, if that would be useful.

I live in Lincoln, NE and am not aware of a chapter there.

Hi!

Born and raised in Ohio, I've lived in Arizona for about 12 years now. I have a BS in Elementary Education. I've spent considerable time with Toastmasters International. I'm not in a group right now, but I enjoy public speaking.

Just found this thread (this place is huge.) I will be no help unless you need a science writer (BA in English, most of a BS Physics/Astro but I didn't finish the last two quantum classes because I got pregnant and stuff) or a violinist (most of a BM in violin performance.) Currently I work as a private violin instructor, a violinist for hire, sometimes an architectural drafter on CAD. I used to direct traffic for a job back in college. DH won't be much help either; he's ABD in philosophy of science, specifically philosophy of biology.

But we will provide bodies for local events!
