Possible letter campaign to The View?

If you don't know, Elizabeth from the View recently announced that she is pregnant. Maybe we could start a campaign to send her letters to do a pg segment on pg issues/complications. What do you all think? I send letters to the View (and others) every week, but if we all send something on a single day or week....we could make a larger impact. [:D]

Denise, I think that is a great idea and would happy to help in any way I can. What kind of letter would I send? Where does it get sent to? I think it is a great idea!! Keep me posted.

Well, we could either all write our own letters, or we could write a form letter for you to mesh with your personal story, I guess. I'm hoping some other people will be interested in doing this. [:D]

back and they wrote back saying that they would contact me
if they decided to run the story.

I have to confess, I'm not a viewer of The View -- even if a fellow Greek is (or was?) one of the hosts. Anyway, it's important to present this in a way that stays with the general approach they take to stories. I thought they were strictly talk show (i.e., guests on that the hosts interview). But if one or more of you who really watch the show and have a pretty good handle on who the audience is could make a practice "pitch" to me, we can massage this and then contact a producer directly. For that matter, that goes for any media opportunities you'd like to take advantage of (Prevention Magazine, etc.). Send me an email with a draft of your pitch answering the questions: Why this story? Why now? What's in it for that publication or shows' viewers/readers? Hey Eleni!! Happy to see you![:D] The View does do health segments that are maybe 5-10 minutes long. I thought with Elizabeth being pg, this would be a perfect opportunity to explore pg-related topics with the show. I'll see what I can come up with and email it to you! Thanks!
