Just thought I'd share that since the fundraiser I've gotten another $150 in donations to the PF from people who either couldn't attend that day or did but wanted to donate more generously.

The effort is continuing to pay off........

I am happy to hear the fundraising effort earned money because that means there are quite a few people out there that care about Pre-eclampsia and it's affects on family and friends. Great job to everyone that helped to generate that kind of help for the foundation! Each step brings us a little closer and a little wiser. :-)

This is all really exciting in a way that goes way beyond the actual $--it just amazes me that all of us--really total strangers--are working together. With our 1600+ members--imagine what we could do? $400x1600 =$640,000. We could run a small nonprofit on that. ;) Never underestimate the value of just sharing your experience with one person--it could save a life. Thanks for keeping up the good fight.

Sandy made a good point, which I neglected to mention. Besides the monetary value, we also benefited by raising awareness which is just as important for our organization at this stage.

Also, when my husband took a group to lunch on that day he hit them all up for a donation to the PF! We've received one $50 check so far.......so the total amt is still adding up!

I agree, thanks for the hard work. We have done that type of fundraisers for the high school where I am a Class Advisor and for our local MOMS Club. You really need lots of people for it to be a big success. $400 is nothing to laugh at though, nice job!!! [:D]

I'm so disappointed that the M&E's fundraiser wasn't more successful. It was alot of work to pass out the flyers and it seems like not many people went aside from family and my close friends. I think at first many people thought it was a coupon for 20% off, and when they figured it out that it didn't save them any money, they decided against going. I distributed to a few businesses that are VERY close to the location along with distributing to daycares and the local children's hospital. The problem is that there are no daycares or hospitals anywhere near that location so I don't think it did much good.

Carol, I think you're right about this being something to learn from...

On another note, Fudrucker's also does fundraisers. Not sure about specifics or if that's just a local thing here, but let me know if you want me to look into it...
