If they are large, national or international companies, it would be better to have those requests originate from our Development committee (which, if you are eager to join, just let us know). If you have personal contacts you could make a phone call to get the ball rolling and then let us know to whom the letter should go. If the companies are locally based (e.g., the local casinos), then feel free to write up a draft, have us review it and get it onto PF letterhead. You can then handle follow up, etc. You can even initiate it with a phone call to their community relations director, asking for the protocal for charity sponsorship. They'll be keen to see some kind of local impact, so the challenge is creating a local program (the brochure campaign, for instance) that can be impacted by their giving.
