Avatars - pictures under names

If anyone is interested in having an avatar (small picture under name)inserted on the forum, you can email the picture .jpg file to the email: avatars@preeclampsia.org. The pictures can be small (I will have to crop and resize them if not).

Make sure to include your forum nickname.

This is usually the format that the digital cameras save pictures under.

Also if you go to any photo shop, they can scan any picture you have and put it on a diskette in the .jpg format.

Alternatively, if you have the picture on a file just email it and I'll let you know if I won't be able to install it.

Ileana...thanks for adding my pics. I wonder though, alot of others are so up close and clear...how can I get a picture on there where you can actual see me clearly...does my .jpg need to be a certain pixel?

Kris,

I can crop the picture so we can see you more clear, but the picture needs to have a better resolution. The more pixels the better.

If you use a digital camera, set it to the highest resolution possible (best quality). If you get the picture scanned, use a good quality picture and ask them to scan it at the highest resolution possible as well.

Hi Ileana,

I would like to have an avatar pic added...I have one picked out, but what size would you need it to be? (I don't know how to resize - I know, that's pretty sad, lol, but can get dh to do it for me)

I know the pics from my digital camera are big files, and I didn't want to even email it until it was close to what you wanted to work with. When I click on "properties" over it, it says the picture is 860 KB - if that's any help.

Alex,

I can work better with a larger picture than with a small one. As long as they are smaller than 1MB it's ok with me.

I am going to adjust sizes and resolution to fit our standard size and not slow down the page download too much.

I live in internet la-la land and it downloads pretty darned quickly here, so I think you're doing a great job! (even our DSL is slower here...that is what you get for living on an island!)
