Removing photos from Avatars Legend

I loaded some photos for my avatar and for some reason they are also showing up big under avatars legend. Is this the public avatars area? How do I remove them from here?

The avatars legend for your profile is private - only you and administrators can see it. The only thing that is public is whatever avatar you currently have selected.

If you'd still like to remove avatars from the legend, I can take care of it for you. Feel free to email me.

Okay, thanks it can stay in legend.

Also, when I click on "my avatars list" it brings up a screen that says "available avatars" My photos show up on here and so do some other peoples photos. Is this public? Should they be here or did I do somethign wrong when I added them? thanks
