Hey sweetie! I'm so sorry to hear that you hurt yourself! At least you have a good excuse... once, I was reading, going down my stairs, and, of course, fell, and I had to explain to the different persons at the hospital exactly how I had banged myself up.... uh, being stupid[:o)]? Being big and preganant and hurt just sucks.

One thought- it's good that you're having the 24 hr urine.. I'm glad to hear that- but I wonder if you should get a home BP monitor, and should start taking your pressures several times a day, log them, and get a better overall picture of what they're running as you do different things? Maybe you're just getting the occasional spike, but perhaps you're going higher than you thought more frequently?

My other thought is wondering if you're scheduled for a level II ultrasound to check baby (GD and htn are rough on babies) AND to check your amniotic fluid? (in light of the fact you're measuing large) Sometimes polyhydramnios (too much fluid) is associated with GD, and sometimes amniotic fluid abnormalities are also associated with pe. Just a thought.

Also (I know, with me there's always the ALSO [:I]) if there's any concern about baby's heart rate, perhaps a NST would be a good idea? I'm a big fan of them...Rapid fetal heart rate can sometimes be just a fluke- or just your baby- but can sometimes be a sign of fetal stress. In that event, further NST testing can be a good follow up, and isn't invasive, etc.

Let us know how all the testing comes out, huh? Take care!

An update on Trisch..Need Advice!

Well, the last few days have been interesting. Yesterday, I feel of my porch and twisted both my ankles, one they x-rayed because they thought it was broken. I am sore all over, but everything seems fine with the baby. Thank God! Well anyway, yesterday my blood pressure was 152/100 at my PCP. They rechecked it and they said it was fine. So today after my x-ray, I stopped in to see my OB. I was to go tomorrow and since I was close, I thought I would stop in the have it rechecked. It was 140/80. The midwife said that she would take that anyday, but with my history she is concerned. I lost 4 lbs. in 2 weeks and I am now measuring 39 weeks when I'm only 30. I have GD, but my sugars have been well controlled, so she's not sure why the measurement was so far off. But the real good news, my protien is now +2. So, I came home with a 24 hour protien study and a script for another Pre-E Profile. I told her that I'm still having the pain under my rib and she said that she will see what the new profile says, because the one I had 2 weeks ago was normal. She and I had a good laugh, because as she said "Let the Game begin!" She was with me the last time I was pregnant and she said that this is what your body does. So, I'm to prick my finger 4 times a day, give myself 2 shots a day and start checking my blood pressure 4 times a day. At this point do you gals think we are covering all the bases? Is there something else I should be doing? One more thing, the baby;s heart rate was 172. It was moving around like crazy, she seemed a little concerned. Does rapid fetal heart rate have anything to do with Pre-E?
