shortness of breath

Postby evansmom » Sun Dec 21, 2003 07:56 am

Hi Everyone, I started my 11th week today, and so far my pregnancy is going well -much better than my first. The only concern I have is that for about 1 week I have been feeling slightly short of breath. I'm not getting winded or anything -- the only way I can describe it is that I feel like I am not breathing in enough air or I have to take deeper breaths. Its worse after I eat. I never had this in my first pregnancy, and I thought it only happens in the late second or third trimester. Everything else seems to be normal -- my bp, pulse, etc. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Lauren,

I honestly don't know if it is something to worry about, though breathing is somewhat required[;)] so I would suggest atleast running it by the dr. Hopefully it's nothing but better to be careful!

Hi Lauren, I tried to post to you yesterday but for some reason it owuldn't take my post[:p]. During my 2cnd pregnancy, I constsantly felt like I couldn't get a satifying breath! It drove me nuts... I was constatly yawning trying to get a full breath. This also happend to a good friend of mine with her 2cnd. I don't really know what it was all about, but I read somewhere it could be due to hormonal changes. On a good note, I didn't get PE with my second!! If it starts to bother you more or is worrisome to you, listen to yourself and call the doc. We women usually know instinctevly when something is wrong. Hope it's nothing!!
