question of the day- PE in which pregnancies?
Re : question of the day- PE in which pregnancies?
Amy, I'd say Yes to the PE, and I don't know about the Hellp...lol?
I had PIH diagnosed at 28/29 weeks with my first pregnancy, caused oligo and was induced and had dd at 37 wks.
Am now in pg #2 (due 8/11/04) and not far enough along to know! Though, so far so good...BP's running around 106/65 range. Though I wouldn't be at all shocked if I ended up with Chronic HTN...my jean size will not be published [;)].

Emma Margaret (03/02/03) 37 weeks from PIH & oligo
Baby #2 due August 11, 2004

Re : question of the day- PE in which pregnancies?
#1: Pregnancy went fine, severe PE and hellp out of the blue, c-section at 35 weeks.
#2: Pregnancy was harder on me (old age, perhaps?), could see the PE and hellp coming this time, c-section at 32 weeks.
Does anyone get it a third time?
Amy
Chloe (8/6/01) 35 weeks, p/e, hellp
Tristan (9/3/03), 32 weeks, p/e and hellp AGAIN

Re : question of the day- PE in which pregnancies?
1st - slightly elevated bp at end of pregnancy. No real issues. 38 week induction due to spontaneous rupture of membranes.
2nd - BP starting to have "chronic" symptoms.
3rd - Second trimester bp on the rise. 31 weeks majorly high BP. 38 week delivery induced because of high bp.
I am now diagnosed with chronic hypertention... 4th pregnancy to be told as it progresses! [:)]

Laura, I'm enjoying these questions, hope that we don't descend to say "jeans size at conception" though![;)]
Fine, horrendous, fine. No apparent hypertension with any of them, up to the moment I showed up in L&D with preeclampsia.

question of the day- PE in which pregnancies?
(these are fun[:D]- email me with ideas)
85% of all preeclamptic pregnancies are first timers for pregnancy, right out of the gate. Certainly, this is the stereotype of when PE occurs... first, then never again. What was your experience?
Question: Did you have preeclampsia with your first pregnancy, a subsequent one, or both? Which pregnancies were complicated by hypertension?
