Hey AliMarie,

Every one is talking about the University of Washington (UW) for care and treatment. There seem to be several of us from the surrounding Seattle area or Puget Sound. There's a thread for you, Laura. Is there a higher incidence of PE in the Seattle area [:p]?

It just started snowing-all this fuss for a few inches!

It started snowing here at around 7 am - I can't wait to take dd out to play.

As for my pre-e in the Seattle area, that would be intesting huh?? I suspect that since we have such an awesome doctor in our area though that it may be just more awareness. I have to say I am surprised and pleased at the pace of these boards - it is sad that so many of us have to deal with this, but I am so grateful for the advice!

Off to look for hats, gloves and coats.

nancy---thanks for clearing up the UW thing. that is exactly what i had guessed...i guess i still have some brain cells after my pregnancy..haha

It sounds like you guys have a great resource in UW being close.


I am finding the snow talk funny. you guys are mentioning inches and where i am..in the south i was excited to see some very very light flurries yesterday!! haha. send some of that snow down here will you...although we do tend to freak out here and everything will close down if we have a couple of inches. it would be fun to get some pics of maddie in the snow!

Haha- close for everyone but me... believe me when I tell people that I understand the anxiety associated with a pregnancy after PE- I actually flew from Alaska to Seattle just to do a consult at UW and see one of their peris! I wasn't messing around....[;)] Anne came to my appointment with me- and I was a convert for life. [:D][:D][:D]

So Laura, did you go to UW (the trip you mentioned) pre-pg #2 or when things started happening? Just curious. Obviously it's way too late for me to go pre-pg! lol

Though, with what I said before, if we did decide to send me some place bigger it'd probably be the Portland area or Utah since I have family there and living would be cheaper than staying in a hotel or something in Seattle! lol Well, I do have a Great Aunt and a 2nd Cousin in the area though...lol

My mother still insists that I will not get it again, though I feel that I will. Hopefully she's right! One odd thing though, the random bruising I was experiencing before has simply stopped now that I'm pg. Good sign/bad sign? Don't know.

I went during in the middle of my second trimester. I was hysterical- they told me you don't get it twice, and there I was, sick again.

I think going there is the reason why I have a wild girl Camille. I owe them my life- the work and research they do, the clinic they run- all of it.

If you have a choice, Catherine- UW is the only way to go.

My grandmother actually lived in Midvale, but passed away just about a week after Emma's birth. (March 03)

My father grew up in a town that no longer exists...lol Honestly. Can't remember the name though.

My brother has just moved to the American Fork area. His fiance lives there and teaches Math at the University. University of Utah? Or was that in Ogden? I can't remember. The one in Orem, I think that isn't BYU...lol My brother is a pilot for Southwest Airlines and was just transfered there Jan 1st.

And, I went to USU for a year up in Logan. Loved it there and didn't really want to move, but I needed to. So where are you?

Catherine, I live in Lehi (the town just west of American Fork), but grew up in Highland (the town just north of American Fork). Needless to say, I've lived an exciting life. [:D]

Your brother's fiance probably teaches at UVSC. I went there and failed the same math class 3 times [:I], so let's hope she wasn't ever my teacher! I lived in Logan, too, just for one semester, it is nice up there. When were you there? If you want, you can just e-mail me so everyone else doesn't have to share in our bonding. [:)]
