Congratulations!
I definitely agree with a peri consult. They're used to us high-risk gals.
Holy Smokes! Just found out I'm pregnant!
Re : Holy Smokes! Just found out I'm pregnant!
Thanks for the help. I had CHF / pulminary edema after my daughter so because of the CHF I was told to watch my sodium intake basically for the rest of my life. It's still really early and I haven't even gone to the doc yet but I figured better to start taking care of myself extra now then wait.
Again I appreciate you giving me all the advice and info!
THanks

Congratulations!!!
Well, we can only really give you "been there, done that" advice, and it sounds like you've got a fair go at being healthy durring pregnancy already!
Do make sure you run all diet plans past your doctor, though. Did he/she suggest going low-sodium? In general, unless you've got an underlying condition such as chronic hypertension or your doctor has told you to restrict salt, it is suggested that we salt our foods to taste.

As to finding a good physician, you can ask around town, search yellow pages, or search these links for perinatologists:

Best wishes and I hope that all goes well!

Holy Smokes! Just found out I'm pregnant!
Well, I was late a few day for my period and I just took a test and BINGO! I'm pregnant. I'm really excited and pray it works out. I did have major complications after my first was born so I am a little scared too.
Any good advice on choosing a good speicalist or doctor and on what to eat or do? I'm am watching my sodium and trying to eat whole foods like on Weight Watcher's Core Plan to keep my weight in check. Would love to hear some advice! Thanks!
