Oh, how this must be an experience for you. I can only imagine your emotions right now. And your right, hospitals are open 24/7 so see that little one when you want! I am sure lil' Patrick will be home before you know it.

Best of Luck to you!

Thank you all so much! I'm home but still a little overwhelmed since I left so suddenly last week. I'm sure many of you understand that. :)

Patrick is still doing well. He's getting noticably stronger everyday. His little tummy still doesn't tolerate food very well, but we did discover that he DOES have a suck reflex! All we had to do was find the right pacifier (or mommy's finger) for him. He doesn't like the one they gave him in the hospital. They think he may be getting a tad jaundiced but that has yet to play out.

As for me, my blood pressure has been lower than even prepregnancy levels. I'm anemic, but I can take iron for that. The pain isn't too bad as long as I keep up with my meds, and I expect to be able to wean off of them in a day or two. It's amazing to me how quickly one forgets how hard it was to simply get off the couch only last week. I'm still slow, but getting better everyday.

I did start crying in Walmart today that my baby isn't home with me yet, but it seems more hormonal than anything. Our hospital is great and I know he is safe, well cared for, and loved by the nurses there. In some ways, it's working out that he's not home yet because we now have a chance to get the things we'd left behind finished in preparation for his homecoming. A baby his size was born two days before him and released today, so I'm hopeful that he, too will have a chance in the next few days. We'll see and in the meantime, hospitals never close so I can go see him whenever I want!
