Ugh! I hate when they screw up. I was in the hospital on complete bedrest with a catheter and everything so they could check the 24hr urine when the Dr. came in and discovered it wasn't hooked up right and was leaking all over the floor. Needless to say, I didn't finish the 24hr urine. They decided to just induce me the next day.
Ok they called today, I have to do the test again. The total urine protien was 5.0 gm but the lab did not report what the total 24 hour urine protien was. So I have to do it again, I hate mistakes like that I really wanted to know where I was. Now I have to wait 2 more days to find out. But I guess I shouldnt worry too much, my blood pressure has been fine.
Has anyone ever heard of a 24 hour urine result being less than 5. My last one was 126 and that was 4 weeks ago, I called the doctor today and he said it was abnormal and it was less than 5 but he was going to call the lab to find out why its not listed as the total mg in 24 hours. I dont know if he was referring to the Total Protein that shows on a comprehensive metabolic panel, but he is a dr, so I assume he knows the difference and knows how the two are interpreted? any ideas
