Thanks for sharing Ethan with us Meg. He is very precious.
How is your sister doing? I know the NICU was the most stress-
ful time for my husband and I.

Thanks so much for the pics Meg - he is a doll. I am so glad that you got to go see him - you totally deserved to be in there. How is your sister? I hope that she is feeling better.

Take care

Joy

just looked at ethans pics he's lovely,no wonder you are so proud aunty Meg!, and rightly so.
Hopefully he will just have to have the meds for the PDA and not the surgery.
I am so glad you got to see Ethan, nothing like seeing them for yourself, for your own peace of mind.
Hows your sis doing? Hope she is ok!!

I hope you are feeling ok too, you must be exhausted with all that has gone on and your pregnancy too!! Rest up and look I forward to the next progress report.
Best wishes to you all

Looking at those pictures reminds me so much of my little girl. Even the same color snuggly. I'm so glad you were able to get in to see him.... We spent many nights doing the pee pee dance (the nurses would laugh at DH and I). And sure enough sooner or later the dance worked (so we had thought [:D]).

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers... Hopefully the meds will work and Ethan will not have to have the PDA surgery.... Otherwise, I'm sure he will do just fine with it...

I am back home! The NICU's offical rule is to only allow parents and grandparents in. But my brother in law was able to convince the nurese to let me in[:D] He was really was SO SO tiny, its hard to believe and the pics dont do it justice. But he is a cutie and I could tell in just those 10 minutes what a fighter he is! I was lucky b/c when I first came in he was under his bili-light with his mask on ( how he is most of the time) and that the first picture. But they were just about to put his PIC line in so they nurse turned off the light, took his mask off, opened his isolet and turned him over so I was able to see him really good and get some great pics!!
As for his health, the delayed his PDA surgery due to his brain bleeds and by the next day they felt his oxygen levels ,etc and improved enough that he was a candidate to try to have his PDA fixed with medicine instead of surgery which would be great! They started 2 doses of it today but it started affecting his urine output so they had to stop the meds. Hopefully if it improves they can continue with the meds and maybe avoid the surgery. Otherwise he is pretty good, they are weaning him off the high speed ventilator and his blood gases are good. He will be a week old tomarrow![:D]
