Congratulations!!! Everyone was wondering how you were and if you had ended up going in to be monitored - and you sure did! And had a baby too :) I hope everything is going fine and baby Dennis is happy to be at home with you all! Looking forward to an update as soon as you have time :)

>>>My bp has gotten worse since delivery not better. I thought delivery was the only treatment. How common is this?

My BP is worse since delivery too. I was induced at 36 weeks for PE but I was back in the ER 4 days PP with severe headaches and very high BP 168/102 while taking 400 mg of labetalol. They added 60 mg of procardia & that is helping but I'm 8 weeks PP and BP is still high if I miss (or am late) on even one dose of my 3 times a day meds.
(((HUGS))) and congrats on a healthy baby!

Congrats, Liza! Get that much-deserved rest and enjoy your new baby. I'm glad he is safe and well.

Congratulations and what a releif. :) Glad to hear your doctor put you on bp meds. My PE dragged on for weeks postpartum, so just keep an eye on yourself and watch for the usual PE symptoms, and give your doc a call if you get headaches, swelling, visual disturbances and the like.

Sorry, Charlie's foot hit the mouse button before I was ready!

Anyway, my bp has stayed high since delivery, too. They started me on labetalol (which I loathe). My drs. keep saying they hope it resolves by 6-8 weeks pp, which can be normal.

Take care of yourself!

Congrats on baby Dennis! (That's my dad's name, so I'm partial to it)

Congrats on baby Dennis! I am glad you and him made it through okay. Just try to rest and recover it may take a while for your BP's to normalize it always has mine.
