Stacey,
Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you and hope your C-section (whenever it happens) goes smoothly. Hopefully we will see you at the WAT!

Definitely call your doc. I called in @ 36 weeks on April 17th with bps 160s/100s and they induced me that am. I agree, there is something about 36 weeks! Both my girls were born at 37 weeks to the day.

Can you get a lung amnio?
Re : What is it about 36 weeks???
Thanks for all the well wishes, thoughts, etc. My blood pressure stayed up most of the day, even just laying around. I did get a 130's/80's in the evening, and now they are climbing again into the 150's/90's I figure it would have been fruitless to even go to my local clinic, so I opted not to. I know the pressures are getting up there, but thankfully, I don't have any other symptoms (YET). I'm keeping a close eye on things, and tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll push the issue of getting scheduled for the C-section when I have the NST. The plan was to do the c-section at 36 weeks (with cause) and 37 (even without cause). I kind of feel like they are "pressing their luck" now.
I just hope for a better experience than last time. With Kayce, the magnesium made me so sick, and then to have the hemorrhaging after the c-section and a second surgery just, plain and simple, sucked! I was so sick and anemic after the second surgery, I didn't even care to go to the NICU to see the baby . . . this time, I wanna feel better about the whole thing.
My perinatologist said I was his "test case" for Norvasc and atenolol during pregnancy, and now he's a firm believer in it's benefits outwaying the risks in a chronic hypertensive pregnancy. . . .nobody thought I'd make it past 32 weeks.

Hey Stacey dear! Forget the docs telling you not to call in about your pressures. It's high...even for you...so call. Actually, going in to the local clinic is a good idea! I'm going to give you a call tonight. You should have a baby in arms very soon! Within the next week I hope! let me know if you need help with Kayce. Be happy to take her for a day or night, or whatever. We are only minutes away from your hospital. :-)
Re : What is it about 36 weeks???
Stacy, I think it's just that when the baby starts to really pack on weight, those of us who make it to the third trimester but have issues with baseline inflammation (the chronics etc.) can't keep up.
And yeah, 160/100 is *high*. How are you doing tonight? Please do head in and get it checked at the local clinic if you haven't already; there's no point in pushing it this close to term, you know?

Re : What is it about 36 weeks???
Please have it rechecked and call if it is still up. They may have told you not to check it, but it would be far better to against their wishes than to harm yourself or your baby. I hope it comes back down but please call ifit doesn't and update when you can.
Re : What is it about 36 weeks???
Please call into your Peri if anything else comes up. Too bad for them that you check your bps at home.
Take care.
Take care.
