Hi everyone thanks for your replies and support. I have been going to my local hospital the last couple of days and things have been going well but seem to still be struggling with my blood pressure when I arrived at hospital yesterday it was 160/100 again but on resting it finally came down to 140/80 and was sent home again.

It is about 3.30 in the morning here and I have been up for about an hour woke up with the worse headache and my chest is terrible sounds like I have asthma. I am thinking about waking hubby up to take me to the hospital but just took blood pressure and 140/90 which is not to bad for me. I am due to go there at 8am to be monitored again so will see how I go I might even ring them and go in a bit earlier. I just dont want to panic hubby he is so stressed out by all of this. I will let you all know how I go but I tell things are starting to change. Hoping to fall back asleep and wake up feeling as normal as I can at the moment.

I'm so grateful that you've got an OB who's on top of things now. These pregnancies are scary and need serious medical management.

Please keep us posted as you're able; everyone here is pulling for you and your baby.

Hi everyone I went to see my OB today in Sydney he has decided that my care plan needs to be changed. He was very upset that they discharged me and has is trying to find a new OB for me in my local area to care for me in between visits to him as he still does not think he is taking it seriously and if I had of been admitted under him I would still be there.

My blood pressure is still not under control so he has increased my labetalol to 500mg 3x a day so I am now on 1500mg a day. He contacted my local hospital where I was admitted and tried to organise me to go to the day assessment unit everyday to be monitored so I could stay at home for a little bit longer but they would only take me every second day so to cut a long story short he contacted my renal specialist who I will now see every second day also in between the day assesment unit to be monitored. Blood test are now being taken daily and I am not allowed to leave the hospital until those results have come back and faxed to him to go over. My protein has increased to just under 6000 from my last 24hr urine test done over the weekend. I had an scan done but weight measurements were not taken as the person doing it said they do not really start doing them until I am 24wks but bub is still measuring behind by over a week but placenta flow looked ok heart rate was 122 a bit low but still in normal range.

I will keep you all updated but I dont think this OB is going to let me breath without consulting him. He advised that if I need to be admitted again I should come up to the sydney hospital I will deliver at but it is such a long drive for hubby who is very stressed out and adding another 5hrs a day in travel time I worry about him. I am hoping my body can just hang in there a little bit longer and we dont deliver bub to early but I am only 22wks.

I'm sorry that you had such a stressful week and that you're scared.

I'll be hoping and praying that your med increase helps bring down your bp and your baby can hold on for a while longer!

Take Care!

Hi everyone sorry I have not been able to drop in and keep you updated. I had a bit of a scare at the end of last week and ended up in hospital for 4 days.

I went to see my renal specialist last week and my blood pressure was 170/110 so she laid me down and came and checked it again and it had gone up even more to 175/115 I had been suffering pain under my ribs for about 24hrs and had hyperreflexia but only on the left side of my body. I was taken straight to L&D and admitted to be monitored.

They increased my BP meds to 400mg of latetalol 3x a day and my blood pressure started coming down. They also found a bacteria in my urine that they could not identify and still cant so started IV antibiotics. I honestly thought it was all over I have never been so scared bubs heart rate dropped to between 100-110 for about 24hrs. I am of to my other specialist today in Sydney the one that diagnosed me so it is going to be interesting to see what he says I am also having a scan done today to see how bub is doing. The last 2 days my blood pressure has been creeping again just checked it then and it was 160/100 heart rate was 112 and I had just woken up. I will let you know what happens but I will be honest I am not sure about the outcome and I am very very scared.

I hope you are at home, in bed cooking your little bub. You'll be in my thoughts.

Penny, I am so sorry you have developed pe so early. Please take the bedrest very seriously - as much time on your left side as possible to help blood flow and encourage the baby to grow.

Are you getting another growth u/s soon to check growth?

I am sorry for the diagnosis but glad you found someone to take you seriously. More hope- I developed PE at 24 weeks and was told I would probably deliver within the next week and was put on srict bedrest. I spent time in and out of the hospital with the last 7 weeks being in the hospital. My baby was IUGR and the bedrest was not fun but we made it to 38 weeks. So although you may deliver early, there are those of us who defy the odds. Keep us posted. (((HUGS)))

I wanted to wish you well and to offer you some hope as well. I was diagnosed with pe at 22 weeks in my last pregnancy. My doctor had even talked to me about possibly terminating the pregnancy. I decided against that and went on strick bedrest. I was on bedrest for 11 weeks before I delivered my daughter at 33 weeks. I know that right now you don't feel very optimistic about making it to 28 week but, neither was I at your stage. Just don't give up!

Keep us updated!
