The only thing I know of autoimmune-wise causing dysphagia or difficulty swallowing are Sjoren's syndrome (due to dry mouth) and hypothyroidism (due to enlarged goiter or thyroid gland). I also know someone with dsyphagia caused by MS (multiple sclerosis).

Autoimmune disorders may increase the risk of preeclampsia.

I've never heard of a connection, but I'm not a doc! The links we usually see are with autoimmune issues, blood clotting disorders, family history, etc.

esophogus restriction and PIH

Postby kaysdesire » Mon Apr 20, 2009 05:59 pm

Does anyone know if there is a link between PIH or PE and upper GI problems, such as food getting stuck in the esophogus due to constriction?
